I glance at myself one last time in the mirror, Lucas was already waiting outside but I couldn't tear myself away from own critical thoughts. Was my top too tight? Did the outfit help my figure or make it look worse?
Part of me couldn't figure out why I was so bothered? Luke had seen me in some of my worst states, he's seen me at my most vulnerable.
But the larger part of me knew why, it was because I was stepping into an entirely new environment. I was no longer meeting with Luke my friend, I was meeting Luke, the potential boyfriend.
Was I even ready for a boyfriend?
I shake my head in a pathetic attempt to clear my own thoughts, I need to control myself this was just a first date. It wasn't as if he was proposing to me.
Nerves bundle in my stomach as I hesitantly begin walking downstairs, I shout a quick goodbye to Oliva, Dylan and Winter. I still found it odd actually conversing with someone before leaving the house. In the past mom didn't care, half the time I don't even think she noticed that I left.
The second the door opens; my eyes widen considerably. Lucas was stood there in a navy-blue gym-top and black shorts. In his hands, he was holding a bouquet of Lily's My heart warms considerably as tears threaten to prick the corner of my eyes.
'Lily's are my favourite!' I gush as I take the flowers of him, so I can study them closer.
He gives me a sheepish grin, 'I-I know, when I was helping you pack up your room, I noticed that one of your sketchbooks were filled with drawings of lily's'
I narrow my eyes, 'You went through my sketchbooks?'
He holds his hands up, 'I'm a curious boy.'
I roll my eyes, 'You're an ass, is what you are.'
'Yes, but I'm an ass that really wants to take you on a date, so can we go?'
I nod as soft smile appears on my lips, 'Yes, we can do.'
We wordlessly walk to his car butterflies dancing around my stomach, I laugh as he quickly rushes over and opens my door for me, I climb inside with a massive grin planted on my face and I had feeling that it was going to permanently stay there for the rest of the evening.
'So, you're a gentleman?'
He snorts, 'No, I've never done that for a girl before.'
'Interesting, where are you taking me?'
'You'll find out soon enough.'
I groan loudly, 'But soon is too far away.'
'I'm starting to remember why I call you princess.'
'Shut up and drive quicker.'
'As you wish.'
I bit the inside of my cheek as one of my favourite songs comes onto his playlist, 'I-I've never wanted to admit this, but we actually have the exact same music taste.'
'Seriously?'
'Yes, and it really pissed me off at first.'
He laughs loudly, 'It probably would have pissed me off too.'
'By the way, now we are confessing things. I also prefer love, a hell of a lot more than princess.'
A warm smile tugs on the corner of his lips, 'Me too.'
My eyebrows knit together when I notice us pulling into the park, parking lot.
'I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting the park.'
