"AHHHH!" El cried out as she lied on the floor in pain.

"There's something moving in her leg!" Mike gasped in horror.

Jonathan scrambled to set Oscar down on the floor and ran to get something.

He was back soon enough with a knife and a wooden spoon. "Okay El, you're gonna wanna bite down on this." He set the wooden spoon in her mouth.

"Jesus christ." Dustin paled.

He hesitated to make the cut, looking around at the others.

"Do it." Mike told him reluctantly.

Jonathan cut into El's leg with the knife, making her scream out around the wooden spoon. Mike held onto her tightly to both give her support and keep her still. Everyone gasped in horror at how horrific her leg looked.

Then he put on a glove and stuck his hand in her leg, making her scream even more.

"STOP IT! STOP!" El shrieked, tossing the wooden spoon out of her mouth. "I CAN DO IT!" She sobbed.

Jonathan complied and took his hand out, watching as she slowly sat up.

El used her powers and forced the strange creature out of her leg with a battle cry, sending it flying. It landed on the ground nearby and tried to crawl away, only to be crushed by someone's shoe.

Everyone looked up in awe to see Hopper, Joyce and Murray walking over to them.

They exchanged information and caught everyone up to speed about the creature, and Murray set down some blueprints he drew up on paper. "Okay, this is what Alexei called the hub, now the hub takes us to the vault room."

"Where's the gate?" Hopper questioned. Their plan was to have El close the gate again to stop the monster.

"Right here. I don't know the scale on this but I think it's fairly close to the vault room, maybe 50 feet or so." Murray explained.

Erica frowned. "More like 500."

Murray stared at her. "I'm sorry who are you?"

"Erica Sinclair, who are you?" She sassed.

His eyes widened. "Murray Bauman."

"Listen Mr. Bunman, I'm not trying to tell you how to do things, but I've been down in that shithole for 24 hours, and with all due respect, you do what this man tells you, you're all gonna die." She snapped.

Murray's eyes narrowed. "I'm sorry why is this four year old speaking to me?"

"I'm ten you bald bastard." She hissed.

"Erica!" Lucas choked out.

Dustin huffed. "Look, the point is she's right. You're all gonna die but you don't have to, excuse me," He took the papers. "See this room here? This is the storage facility. There's a hatch in here that feeds into the underground ventilation system, that will lead you to the base of the weapon. It's a bit of a maze, but between me and Erica, we can show you the way."

Hopper scoffed. "You can show us the way?"

"Don't worry you can do all your fighting hero shit, we'll just be your navigators." He explained.

"No." Hopper told him simply, surprising him. "Nope."

~~~
"Well that settles it, they're gonna die." Erica commented as the adults worked to gather supplies and reload guns.
Dustin sighed. "Yup. Most likely."
"You guys survived." Lucas insisted.
"Barely. We could've really used you guys down there." He frowned.
