They rushed Will to the lab, he kept screaming of burns but they couldn't find a single injury on his body. They had no choice but to knock him out.

Joyce was talking with Dr. Owens while Mike, Bob and Oscar sat with Will in his hospital room.

Oscar was gripping his hand tightly, trying his best not to start trembling.

Why was this happening to him? Will was a good kid and he didn't deserve all this...this hell.

It wasn't until morning that Joyce was finally back and trying to fill Bob in as best she could. Mike had passed out.

Oscar jumped a little in surprise when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and glanced up to see Joyce smiling sadly at him. "Sweetie you should try and sleep."

His eyes widened. He shook his head, looking back at Will. He hadn't let go of his hand. "No way."

"You should sleep while he's sleeping, so you can be there for him when he's awake." Joyce insisted kindly.

"I'm not leaving him." Oscar told her firmly, despite the tired look in his eyes.

Joyce sighed softly but didn't push any further.

That's when they saw Will begin to stir, and their attention instantly went to him.

"Will..." Oscar whispered with relief.

"Mmm..." Will's eyes fluttered open and he looked at Oscar tiredly, eyebrows furrowing. "...Olive? What are you doing here?..." He muttered.

Oscar's blood ran cold as Mike, Bob and Joyce instantly looked alarmed.

Will's eyes fell on Bob and his eyes widened in fear. "Who's that? Olive what's- what's happening?"

"You don't remember?" Oscar asked in disbelief, a feeling of horror forming in his chest.

~~~
They called for some doctors and hooked up Will's brain to some machines as they asked him some questions.
"Do you remember me?" Dr. Owens asked. "Do you know who I am?"
Will seemed a little lost. "...A doctor." He settled on.
"Have we met before?"
"I don't...remember." Will admitted softly.
Dr. Owens nodded. "How about these two?" He gestured to Mike and Oscar. "Remember them?"
The two tensed as Will looked them over, seeming to struggle.
"Take your time." Dr. Owens insisted.
"They're...my friends..." Will started slowly. "Mike." He nodded towards Mike, before slowly looking over at Oscar. "And that's...Olivia..."
Oscar felt a harsh weight on his chest, but Will continued, looking confused. "Wait...no that's...that's not right either..."
Everyone waited patiently as Will stared at Oscar with furrowed eyebrows. "I feel like...I'm forgetting something super important."
"It's okay." Oscar insisted weakly. "You don't have to push yourself." He insisted, trying to keep his voice from cracking.
"What about me kid?" Hopper asked calmly. "They told me you helped save me last night, remember that?"
Will slowly shook his head.
"Do you remember anything about last night?" Dr. Owens questioned.
"I remember...they hurt me..." Will started softly, but there was something...angry forming in his eyes.
"The doctors?" Dr. Owens asked.
Will shook his head. "The soldiers." His eyes turned cold. "They shouldn't have done that. It upset him." He hissed, making their eyes widen.
Dr. Owens took out a photo of Will's drawing of the shadow monster. "You say him, do you mean this?"
Will nodded.
Dr. Owens sighed. "I wanna try something, I think I'm starting to get a better picture of what's going on, is that okay?" He asked. Will nodded once more.
They brought in a container holding a piece of the vines from underground and a man held up a flame gun. "Let us know if you feel anything."
They brought the fire close to the vine, and it began to let out noises of discomfort.
"Little sting..." Will told them tensely.
Oscar's eyes widened.
"Where?" Dr. Owens questioned.
"My chest..." Will began to struggle, gripping at his chest painfully.
They brought the flame closer.
"IT BURNS...EVERYWHERE!" He all but screamed, gripping his chest.
Everyone began protesting for the man to take the flame away, which he finally did after a moment and Will instantly relaxed.
~~~

They've been waiting for hours. The doctors were trying to discuss a plan, leaving them all sitting and waiting.

"Scar, please, you have to sleep, or at least eat." Mike whispered next to him.

"No." Scar croaked out, looking at Will who seemed to be in a daze.

Mike sighed a little. "...You can't take it personally, he didn't...if he didn't know you as...that name, first then...you know he didn't mean it."

"It's not about the damn name, Mike." Scar told him softly. "I don't give a shit what he calls me. I'll go by Olivia for the rest of my life if that's what it takes for him to just...be okay."

Mike looked down at his lap. "...Scar, you know you can tell me...anything, right? Like, I'm talking big stuff." Oscar glanced over at him. "Even things that might be considered by many as...wrong."

Oscar paused, and opened his mouth to reply, only for Bob and Joyce to suddenly get up. Joyce was getting impatient and going to talk to the guards blocking the meeting room, desperate to get some answers about Will.

That's when the boys noticed how tense Will had become, staring off at something.

"Will?" Mike started softly, but he didn't respond.

Oscar hesitantly grabbed his hand, making Will gasp in surprise. "Will are you okay? Are you in pain?"

"...I saw something..." Will started trembling. "The shadow monster...I think...I think I know how to stop him."

~~~
Will looked over all of the photos they took of stuff from his house and pointed to a spot on the map of vines. "Here. There's something here he doesn't want me to see."
And with a plan of action, the adults sent out to go investigate that area while Mike, Joyce, Bob and Oscar stayed with Will. Hopper was watching the footage with the other doctors.
But an hour or so later, Will suddenly started crying. "I'm sorry."
"What? For what sweetie?" Joyce asked with confusion.
Will looked impossibly guilty. "H-He made me do it..."
Mike and Oscar's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
But that's when it hit them.
"NO!" Oscar screamed, bolting from the chair. Mike was right on his heel. "IT'S A TRAP! RUN!" He all but shrieked as the guards tried to stop him and Mike from getting through.
Will was sobbing. "It's too late."
Feeling nothing but defeat, Mike and Oscar went back over to him. Joyce was trying to talk to him.
"You should go now." He sniffed. "They're coming."
