A/N: I don't care what anyone says, season two was the best season and it makes me cry every time.
Joyce pulled up to the arcade.
"Thanks for the ride Ms. Byers." Oscar told her kindly, already hopping out of the car. His hair had grown out a little and was resting in a low ponytail. A jean hat was on his head and he wore a striped t-shirt with a black jacket over it and some grey pants.
She nodded with a smile before looking at Will. "I'm gonna pick you up in two hours on the dot. If you need anything ask to use their phone to call me, do NOT bike or walk home, even with Oscar-"
"I know mom! We've gotta go!" Will insisted, trying to leave the car.
She smiled. "Have fun!"
They got out and hurried to meet their friends who were waiting. They headed inside and started playing some of the games.
"I HATE THIS OVERPRICED BULLSHIT!" Dustin exclaimed when he lost at Dragon's Lair.
Lucas smirked. "Princess Daphne is all mine." He gestured to the girl on the screen.
"Whatever, I'm still number one at Centipede and Dig Dug." Dustin grumbled.
That's when Keith, an older boy nearby, spoke up. "Sure about that?"
Dustin's eyes widened. He hurried and checked Dig Dug first. "NO!" Someone had taken his spot at number one.
"Who the fuck is MadMax?" Oscar raised an eyebrow.
As the others argued with Keith for information, Oscar noticed Will wandered off outside. Eyebrows furrowed, he followed him out.
"Will?" He called, but Will didn't answer. He walked up and grabbed his shoulder. "Will what's wrong-" Will yelped, looking at Oscar with genuine fear for a moment. "Are you okay?" He asked in shock.
Will swallowed hard. "I um...yeah..." He looked around briefly. "Just...needed some air."
"Let's get back inside before the others worry." Oscar took his hand, freezing when he felt a strange spark. He and Will looked down at their hands, and Oscar awkwardly pulled away. "...L-Let's go."
"...Yeah..." Will muttered, already missing the contact.

The next day at school, Oscar approached Will at his locker. "Will we're gonna be late for class-" He frowned when Will scrambled to hide something in his pocket. "...Everything okay?"
Will grinned at him. "Yeah, totally. I just needed my notes..." He trailed off, looking away. "Let's go."
They headed to science class, and Mr. Clarke began by setting down a model of the brain. "The human brain, there is a hundred billion cells inside this little miracle of evolution,"
As Mr. Clarke continued teaching, students were passing papers around and just in general not paying attention. The only ones actually interested were Lucas, Dustin, Mike and Oscar. Even Will seemed distracted.
Just then, the door opened and a girl came in with the Principal. "Ah, this must be our new student." Mr. Clarke smiled. The Principal left.
The girl huffed, looking anywhere but the class. She had bright, long red hair and a face full of freckles.
"Class, please welcome all the way from sunny California, Maxine." Mr. Clarke smiled.
"It's Max..." She muttered, getting a small apology from the teacher.
The boys froze, looking at each other in wonder.
"MadMax?" Oscar whispered to Lucas curiously, he shrugged.
