"APPLY PRESSURE!"
"GET NAPKINS, GO!"
"ARGYLE WE NEED TO GET TO ST. MARY'S!"
"I DON'T THINK PRAYING'S GONNA HELP THAT DUDE MAN!"
Oscar's jaw dropped in disbelief, the only thing keeping him from killing Argyle was the fact that his hands were set over the wound the agent was bleeding out from. "THE HOSPITAL YOU MORON!" He screamed viciously.
"N-No...no hospital..." The agent told them weakly, blood pouring out of his mouth. "Y...You n-need to warn...O...Owens...t-the girl...she's...in danger..."
Mike's eyes widened.
"HOW DO WE FIND OWENS!?" Jonathan questioned quickly.
"Nina...Nina..." He muttered.
They scrambled to hand him a pen. "H-Here's the...number..."
But before he could write it down, he bled out, leaving them all stunned and horrified.
"We should get off the road." Jonathan breathed when he saw a car driving after them.
"OH SHIT HE'S DEAD- T-THAT'S BAD-" Argyle panicked, eyes wide.
Oscar grabbed him by his hair, eyes filled with rage. "GET OFF THE FUCKING ROAD!"
Argyle screamed and turned the wheel as hard as he could, sending them diving off the road
~~~
They were in the middle of a junkyard of cars, finally stopping after hours of driving.
Argyle was freaking out while the others tossed dirt over the agent's corpse, burying him.
Jonathan sent him to go get high.
Meanwhile Oscar was beginning to twitch. "Will you love me no matter what right?"
"What?" Will looked over at him in confusion. "Uh, yeah?"
"And you understand that our situation right now is pretty fucked up and it would be pointless to worry about little details,"
Will's eyes narrowed. "...I guess?"
Oscar nodded. "Keep that in mind." He took out a cigarette and lit it in an instant.
Will's jaw dropped. "YOU'RE SMOKING!?"
"Oh my God," Mike started in a whisper. "I'm surrounded by idiots."
"I NEED TO RELAX!" Oscar protested around the cigarette, taking a drag.
Will pinched the bridge of his nose tiredly. "Do you even realize how bad that is for your health?"
"Don't even start-"
"YOUR LUNGS ARE STILL RECOVERING!"
"I'M STILL WALKING AREN'T I? I'M FINE!"
"HOW CAN YOU-"
"SHUT UP!" Mike shouted, making them jump. "MY GIRLFRIEND IS LITERALLY OUT THERE SOMEWHERE GOING THROUGH FUCK KNOWS WHAT TO TRY AND GET HER POWERS BACK, SHE'S ALL ALONE, THE FATE OF THE WORLD RESTS ON HER SHOULDERS, SHE THINKS I HATE HER AND THE LAST THING I NEED IS MY BEST FRIEND AND MY BROTHER ARGUING ABOUT SHIT THAT I ALSO CAN'T FIX!"
He was starting to hyperventilate. Oscar's eyebrows furrowed in worried. "Mike?"
"What's- What's happening?" Mike wheezed, setting a hand on his chest as his eyes widened.
Will grabbed his arm. "You're having a panic attack, sit down." He told him quickly, dragging him to the hood of a car and making him sit.
Oscar quickly put out his cigarette and rushed over to him. "Mike, Mike it's okay. You're okay." He insisted with concern as Mike's eyes flickered around to anything and everything, struggling for air. "Mike, follow my breathing!" He insisted, taking in a deep breath, or at least trying to.
He couldn't really get a full one without breaking into coughs.
"You're so hopeless." Will scolded. "Deep breaths, in and out." He told Mike gently, taking in a full deep breath that Mike tried to follow.
When they finally got him to calm down, Will went to grab him a drink while Oscar sat with him.
"I'm sorry, Mike." Oscar started softly. "I've been so wrapped up in my own shit, I didn't even...I didn't realize how hard of a time you were having."
"I'm not sure I realized either." He admitted tiredly. "I just...keep thinking about what I should've said to El. What I should've done. If that guy had lived just...a second longer, we'd know where she is. Why didn't he just say the number?" He asked helplessly.
That's when they noticed Argyle trying to write on the pizza box with the pen from the agent. He was trying to make him a headstone.
"That's the pen he gave me before he died." Mike commented, eyebrows furrowed.
"What are the odds an agent is carrying a pen that doesn't work?" Oscar breathed.
The twins shared a look.
Then they bolted over to Argyle and snatched the pen away. "Hey man, I'm using that!" He complained.
Mike screwed off the top of the pen and Oscar caught the thing that fell out of it. Everyone gathered around to see what it was.
It was a small piece of paper, with a number on it.
"It's the number." Mike gasped, beginning to grin.
"We've had it this whole time." Oscar realized.
~~~
They drove for a few hours and eventually found a telephone booth, almost running into it.
Mike grabbed the phone and put in the number along with a coin, eyebrows furrowing. "It's just making weird noises."
Oscar took it from him and listened. "...Guys, I don't think we're calling a phone," He realized. "We're calling a computer."
They hurried back to the car and grabbed a map. "We need to find the computer, then we can contact Owens and warn El." Mike explained. "We just need a hacker, and the only one I know lives in Utah."
"Utah?" Jonathan's eyebrows furrowed.
Will gasped. "No way..." He grinned. "Turn around...Look at what you see..." He started singing.
"Oh my god." Jonathan realized.
Oscar's jaw dropped. "Suzie." He breathed. He still needed to get Dustin to sing the song for him, because of course he'd been unconscious at the time and missed the whole thing.
It was so unfair.
"You're being serious." Jonathan commented. "You want to drive to Utah?"
"We'll get there by morning, she saved the world once, maybe she can save it again." Mike insisted.
Looks like they were driving to Salt Lake City.
