"Something is coming, something hungry for blood. A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. It is almost here." Mike told them in a low tone, entrapping them in the story. They all leaned closer with interest.
"What is it?" Will asked with wide eyes.
Dustin grew nervous. "What if it's the Demogorgon?"
"Well then we're screwed since my character's too low on HP." Oscar told him sharply. He was Mike's twin brother, with a haircut almost identical, though his face looked a lot more like Nancy's. He was wearing a black hoodie and some sweat pants.
Lucas huffed. "Calm down, it's not the Demogorgon."
"Have you met my brother? It's absolutely the Demogorgon." Oscar deadpanned.
Mike slammed a figure down on the table. "An army of Troglodytes charge into the chamber!"
Dustin laughed. "Troglodytes?"
"Told ya." Lucas said smugly, smirking at Oscar.
Oscar scoffed. "You're all naïve."
"Wait a minute," Mike started softly. "Did you hear that? That...That sound...boom...boom...BOOM!" He slammed his hands on the table to make them all jump. "That didn't come from Troglodytes, no, that came from something else...THE DEMOGORGON!" He slammed the piece down on the table.
Everyone groaned.
"We're in deep shit." Dustin winced.
"Will, your action." Mike told him.
"I-I don't know!" Will exclaimed.
Lucas's jaw dropped. "FIREBALL HIM!"
"Too risky, cast protection!" Dustin insisted.
Will gulped. "Oscar?" He looked at him for help.
Oscar sighed. "I can't help you; my character is knocked out remember? I told you guys we should've bought more potions."
"Well, it's a little late for regrets." Lucas snapped.
Mike slammed his hand on the table. "THE DEMOGORGON IS TIRED OF YOUR HUMAN BICKERING. It stomps towards you, BOOM!" The others began shouting different things at Will, but he panicked and didn't pick anything. "AND-"
"FIREBALL!" Will exclaimed, throwing the dice. But he put a little too much power into it and the dice went everywhere.
"Oh shit." Dustin gasped, getting up to look for it.
Everyone began searching, but then Karen walked in. "Mike! Olive!"
"Mom we're in the middle of a campaign!" Mike snapped.
"You mean the end? Fifteen after." She snapped before leaving the room.
Everyone searched for the dice while Mike went up to talk to their mom.
"Hey, you okay?" Will asked hesitantly, pausing his search to talk to Oscar. "I know you hate that name..."
He huffed. "It's whatever, she won't listen to me." A small smile grazed his face. "But thanks." Will smiled back.
"Oh! Here it is!" Will exclaimed, grabbing the dice. "Does the seven count?"
"Did Mike see it?" Dustin asked.
Will blinked. "No."
"Then nope." Lucas smirked.
Everyone headed upstairs since their game was apparently over for the night thanks to Karen.
Mike and Oscar stood outside to see them off.
"There's something wrong with your sister." Dustin commented as he stepped outside with the pizza.
