Morgan's POV

As quietly as humanly possible, I climb through the window, taking a deep breath once I get inside without making any noise.

I slowly walk through the empty living room, the torch in my hand on since all the lights are off.

I make my way over to the stairs, praying I don't step on any creaky floorboards. I successfully make it upstairs easily, before stopping and looking down the hallway of closed doors.

I hear snoring coming from a room in front, and I turn off my torch and walk over. Slowly opening the door, I see both a man and a woman asleep on their bed, snoring loudly.

I step inside and close the door, before waiting a minute for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. I eventually am able to make out where a door is, their walk-in closet, and I make my way over silently.

Once inside, I close the door and turn on the light. I need to be quick.

I pray neither of them wakes up within now and the next five minutes, or else they'll be able to see the light on through the bottom of the door.

Quickly beginning my search, I open the drawers, finding a few gold necklaces, as well as earrings and watches. I pocket them all, but keep looking.

I spot a safe, and I smile. I kneel in front of it, and it doesn't take me long to get into it. Inside, I find two diamond necklaces, as well as a few wads of cash.

I take the necklaces as well as the cash before closing the safe door and turning off the closet light. Quietly and slowly, I open up the closet door, pleased to see them both still asleep.

I get out of their room as quickly as possible but freeze when I step on a creaking floorboard right outside their bedroom door.

I stop breathing, trying to hear any movement indicating they're awake, but the snoring continues, assuring me they didn't hear. Letting out a breath of relief, I go back downstairs and escape through the window I came from.

It's late at night; the streets are empty of cars and people, while the sky is full of stars glittering up above.

I walk down the sidewalk towards the bus stop. There are two people waiting there, a man and women. Both looking tired, like they just finished a long shift.

The bus comes quickly, and they both seem relieved. Probably at the fact, they're one step closer to getting home.

I get on, paying for my ticket before sitting down at the front, and placing my black backpack on the empty seat beside me.

Unsurprisingly, the bus is quite empty. Apart from the man and women before, there are only three other people; a shabby-looking man, asleep with his head leaned against the window at the back. And two friends, who look no older than eighteen, talking quietly amongst themselves. Overall, it's a normal Thursday night.

I lift my bag off the seat beside me and place it on my lap, before zipping open the main part. I smile, looking down at the jewellery I got tonight. Oakley will be able to get me at least two grand for this stuff. That'll cover this month's rent, as well as a few of the bills.

I zip back up my bag, staring out the window, happy.

I don't exactly like breaking the law. It stresses me out, and whenever I see a cop I practically throw up, scared they're here for me.

I do it because I need to. I have rent to pay. Although my one-bed apartment is small, the monthly rent is just too much to cover.

I'm not exactly good at being able to hold down a job either. I've had three different jobs so far this year. Its March.
