Sage's POV

I fucking hate Leo.

We all glare at him, while he just continues to smile to himself, still seeming amused despite the fact we're fucking hiking.

"You know, the good thing about being in the woods is there's so much space to hide a body" Elijah chimes in, causing Leo to snicker, not seeming worried in the slightest.

"Dad I'm tired!" Natalie groans, and Alex sighs. "Me too sweetheart".

I roll my eyes for the millionth time.

It was Leo's amazing idea that we take the kids camping. In the woods. At the top of a fucking mountain. Or what feels like one anyway.

You see, the girls are having one of their famous nights out.

Now- I have no problem with my wife going out. But being forced to hike up a goddamn mountain in the hot sun while Morgan is probably enjoying her life, drinking in Diana and Alex's house?

Fuck Leo.

We did force him to come along, however. And we've all agreed that we're going to inflict our kids on him over the next few hours.

Alex walks ahead of our group, a rucksack on his back, holding a bottle of water in one hand and his daughter's hand in the other.

Elijah has his arm around his daughter, Sam's, shoulder, saying something to her to make her laugh. Meanwhile, his son Jayden is talking with Teddy ahead.

I think they're planning something.

Casey walks beside Leo, carrying his daughter Adriana over his shoulder.

"It's too warm," Jayden suddenly groans, using his hand to fan his face. Elijah hums in agreement.

It's fucking roasting.

Me and Elijah both have our shirts off, having taken them off and tucked them into the side of our shorts within the first few minutes of this hike.

Leo didn't even waste time doing that - he left the house shirtless, wearing only his black shorts, shoes, and a backpack on his back. He pulled out a cap when we first got here and now wears it backwards on his head.

Casey and Alex are the only two wearing shirts- they both seem to be dying. Casey more than Alex since he's wearing sleeves. Alex is at least in a T-shirt.

"Are we nearly there?" Sam mumbles, just as we seem to come to a clearing, aka, our campsite.

I think we all sigh with relief.

Natalie lets out a huff. "Why couldn't I stay home and go with mam and aunties?" She mutters, not seeming happy.

Alex just smiles, amused at his daughter. "And drink margaritas?" He chuckles.

Natalie tilts her chin up. "I'm old enough".

She's ten.

Alex laughs, throwing an arm around her shoulder and pulling her into his side. "Aw no.. you're just my little baby still". She gasps in horror, her face going bright red. "Dad!" She scowls, trying to push away from him, clearly mortified.

Alex just laughs as he looks around the clearing where we're about to spend our night.

Someone throws an arm around my shoulder. "Want to share a tent? We can be roommates like the good old days" Leo grins.

"I want to suffocate you," I tell him seriously, shoving his hand off me and walking over to my kid, who's busy laughing with Jayden.

They're both carrying their own packs because they insist they're old enough. Teddy has a cap on his head like Leo to protect his head from the sun, as does Jayden. His is Ironman, while Teddy's is Spiderman.
