Morgan's POV

I startle awake when I hear a blaring sound. Groaning, I see it's 6:50 am. Meaning, time to get up.

I roll out of bed, still half asleep. I change into some shorts and a loose shirt, before throwing my red hair into a messy ponytail.

I walk out my door, happy to see multiple people walking down the corridor. I follow them, and they lead me straight to the gym.

I spot Diego, Luna and this other guy talking and I walk over, hoping I'm welcome.

The smile on Luna's face tells me I am.

"You found it. See, I told you you wouldn't get lost" Luna smiles, linking arms with me.

I look at the other dude, seeing he's already staring. He's the tallest out of the four of us, standing at maybe 6'2. With dark brown hair that's tied back into a small man-bun, and a few piercings on his ears, he's just as attractive as Diego.

"Marlow" He suddenly says, and I shoot him a small smile. "Morgan," I tell him. He gives me a small nod, mirroring my smile.

I look around, taking note of how there are a lot of us. If I had to estimate the number of us, I'd say fifty.

"Everyone shut up!" Someone suddenly yells.

Everyone quiets down, and I look in the direction of the voice to see a guy at the front. He towers over us all, so he must be standing on something. It's either that, or he's over seven feet tall.

He smiles. "Thank you," He says when we all go quiet in seconds.

From here, I can see he's wearing a tight-fitted black shirt, which shows he's well-built. His black hair is done up in two-strand twists, and the brown skin under his eyes creases as he smiles. He surprisingly looks very friendly, despite the fact he's here to train us to be killers.

"Alright. I'm Elijah, and this giant here is Sage. He's the one who runs this place, and he'll soon be a person you despise" He shouts. I didn't even know there was a guy beside him. We're standing at the back, so it's not surprising.

"Look around you, these are the people you're going to be spending the next year of your lives with," He tells us. "Now, we don't give two shits what happens between you all. Arguing, sex, both? We don't care. But the second you walk in here, forget it. Because we don't have the time, patience, or energy to deal with your petty fights" Elijah yells. A few people chuckle, while I simply smile.

"As you can see, this place is well equipt. There are weapons here you will be trained to use. But if any of you ever use them on each other without our permission, there will be consequences that you will find are not the nicest" He says to us.

"If you tell anyone what happens here, or what you are doing, or where we are, we will find out" He takes a pause. "And you will be killed. Brutally". I shiver slightly, not even wanting to think about what they'd do.

"Now if you are sick, tired, or simply couldn't be bothered to show up, don't. Fall behind. Again, we don't care. It's not like we're taking fucking attendance here. But at the end of the year, there will be a test. If you don't pass, you repeat the year. Fail again? You won't be given another chance" He says, and I get a bit uneasy. We won't be given another chance, yet they won't just let us go. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what will happen. "So keep that in mind when you have a bit of a sore tummy, okay kids?" Elijah says, and we all nod. He seems pretty funny despite his job.

"Great. Now for the first month, we'll be working on cardio and building strength since you all look like twigs. People in rooms one to thirty, go to the right. Everyone else stay behind. Fairly straightforward. Go" He says, before jumping back off whatever he was standing on and out of view to me.

Luna grabs my arm, pulling me to the left, while Diego and Marlow are walking ahead.

The left side of the gym is filled with machines that I've mostly never seen before. Luna walks over to the seated-machine-fly, looking at it weirdly.

"What the fuck is this" She mumbles. I laugh, before going and adjusting the weight to the easiest setting. "Sit down" I instruct, and she listens.

I show her what to do, and ten seconds in she's complaining. "I hate this already" She groans, and I laugh while standing beside her.

Everyone has partnered up, one person using the machine while the other person spots them. Well, in our case I'm just watching since a spotter isn't needed for this machine.

"Do you work out a lot?" Luna asks me, sounding breathless already. "A few times a month when I have the time," I tell her. "Can't relate. I can barely open a pickle jar" She huffs.

A few minutes later when Luna physically can't do anymore, we switch. While she is panting beside me like a dog, I look around.

I spot Elijah over the other side of the gym, holding his foot on someone's back while they struggle to do push-ups. I then spot another guy, walking around our side.

He looks tall- very tall. And muscly. He's helping someone with something, and his back is facing me, so I can't get a good look at his face.

He suddenly turns around, and I quickly look away.

I continue to work out, feeling the burn in my arms and chest after only a minute. "Don't make it obvious, but see the trainer Sage" Luna suddenly whispers. I hum, keeping my eyes on the ground in front.

"He doesn't talk," Luna tells me. "That's bullshit" I chuckle. You can't train this many people without speaking a word. "Diego is friends with someone from group C, and they never heard him say one word. But they say he can talk" Luna whispers.

I look at her confused. "They've never heard him talk, but they know he can talk?" I repeat to her. Sounds like a rumour in my opinion.

"Someone saw him say a word to Elijah before," Luna ,tells me. "So they have heard him talk?". Luna groans. "Nevermind" She sighs and sits back down on the floor.

I look up, seeing Sage is now closer than before. He's looking around at everyone, distracted. I take this time to look at his face.

The very roots of his hair are black, but quickly fade out into white-ish silver hair. It's clearly dyed, and I never knew that could look good. I always assumed white hair would make a person old, but he pulls it off.

His head is turned, and I have a clear view of his very sharp jawline, that's covered in a very light stubble.

His head turns, and I'm grateful since I can get a good look at his eyes that are-

On me.

Shit.

Quickly looking away even though its pointless- I was already caught.

I'm suddenly hyper focused on him. So much so I can hear his slow, quiet footsteps despite all the noise coming from around us.

With my eyes glued to the floor in front of me, I see his shoes as he walks past slowly. I'm tempted to look up at him, but I fight it since being caught ogling at my trainer once is enough for me.

"My god, that dude is scary as fuck" Luna mumbles, and without thinking I look up at him, thankful his back is now turned.

"I think I'd rather eat mouldy cheese than be in the same room as him if he were pissed off" Luna mumbles, and I can't help but laugh.

"That was quite random" I chuckle, and she grins, shrugging her shoulders.

"Switch," I tell her. She groans.
