Morgan's POV

Shit.

I stare at the alarm clock on my bedside table, seeing it's ten past seven. I'm ten minutes late.

Shit!

Getting up, my head pounds and my vision goes blurry slightly. Stumbling into the wall, I lean against it for a minute.

Sage mentioned something about not going to training today. Apparently I need to 'rest'. I considered his advice, but that's the most I can do.

I walk over to my wardrobe, changing into some clothes suitable to workout in. I then quickly rush out the door and run.

It takes me two minutes to run down to the gym, and I'm out of breath by the time I get there. I take a minute to calm down before I walk in.

The gym is completely empty. Not a soul in sight. Well, only one.

Shit.

Sage is sitting up on the bench press. He's not using the machine, just sitting down on his phone. If he sees me, he'll know I didn't listen. He'd know either way, but if I was with eighty other people he wouldn't do anything.

I slowly take steps back, but of course, my ankle decides to crack.

Sage being the superhuman he is, hears it. He looks up, noticing me immediately. I wince, taking another few steps back.

"Now I know what you might be thinking" I chuckle nervously as he stands up. "But I was not here for training, I was actually here to..to..make sure you knew I wasn't coming" I lie, putting on a smile as he walks towards me at a faster rate.

When he gets within the same ten meters as me, I decide to just turn and run.

I leave the gym, heading down the hallway with him behind me. I turn a corner, then another one, then another one.

I have no clue where Im going, or even where I am, but as long as I don't get caught I don't care. I'd like to think I've gotten faster since the last time he chased me. And when I turn around and see he's not behind me anymore, I grin. I outran him.

I stop, taking deep breaths as I keep facing the hallway, in case he was to randomly run around the corner. But after a minute, I know I'm safe.

Turning around,  I let out a scream when I see him standing right behind me.

Placing a hand over my heart, I don't even bother to run. "Listen, I don't need a day of rest, I'm fine," I tell him, leaving out the fact my head is still pounding, and that I get random dizzy spells.

But he seems to know just by looking at me. "So um..how's your morning?" I ask, taking a few very small steps backwards.

He shoots me a look and I stop. I don't know why, but I stopped. Without hesitation. My grandad was right, I am weak.

Sage takes his time walking over to me. He knows I'm nervous as fuck, but the asshole likes it.

When he reaches me, his hands are placed on my hips, and he continues to walk, pushing me backwards as he does so. When my back hits a wall, I curse silently.

Sage uses his body to pin me to the wall, and having his body against mine is driving me insane.

He brings his hand up, gently brushing some of my hair back to look at the cut on my forehead. He needed to put in three stitches, which hurt a lot. He stuffed a cloth bandage in my mouth when I wouldn't stop complaining.

His eyes inspect the wound on the side of my forehead before he sighs, and his eyes glance back to me.

"See? I'm fine" I tell him. He doesn't look convinced. In all honesty, I should probably rest today. But I'm so scared of falling behind and having to do another year of this.

I give him the best puppy-dog eyes I could, but it doesn't affect him in the slightest.

Oh no. Oh god no. If he doesn't fall for that- Oh I'm so fucked.

"So.." I mumble, trying to change the subject. Mabey I can make him forget about this, and he'll let me go. "How was your day yesterday?".

As I spoke, the memories of him kissing me rushed back into my mind.

I couldn't stop thinking about it last night.

He kissed me. He told me he wasn't my friend, in a way that suggested he was more.

I feel hot at just the memory, and I glance down. He's quick to force my chin back up, and I swear I can tell he's thinking about it too.

He's probably regretting it. I'm one of the people he is supposed to be teaching. He could surely get fired for this. Plus, I doubt he'll stick around. After people realise just how much I talk once I get comfortable around them, they always get bored. And a headache.

I smile sadly at him, gently pulling away the hand he was using to tilt my chin up. "I understand it was a mistake. Really. You don't have to worry-"

He scowls, and in one quick motion, he had both my wrists pinned above my head with just one hand, while the other grabs my jaw. "Shut up Morgan" Sage mutters, before he kisses me again. My eyes are wide for hearing his voice, and shit, hearing him say my name was hot.

I try to kiss back, but he makes it hard since he's holding my jaw still. It's clear to anyone and everyone who's in control here, and surprisingly, I'm not afraid.

I've kissed a few people before but giving them control of something as simple as a kiss felt wrong and made me very nervous. But it doesn't now.

Sage didn't need me to give him control, he just took it. Easily. And I let him. Happily.

I smile against his lip, just as he pulls away, leaving my face red and hot while my lips are swollen and bruised. He looks happy with the look, and even cracks a small grin that I'm only able to notice since I'm so close.

"I think that should be your new way of shutting me up" I speak without thinking. I'm mortified when I realise what I just said, but all he does is laugh.

I grin, still not used to seeing or hearing him laugh.

"Does this mean I can go to training now?" I ask,  taking a chance since he's happy and in a good mood.

He smiles and shakes his head.

I groan. "Please-"

Like requested, he shuts me up by kissing me once more.
