Morgan's POV

I open the door to my room, stepping inside before closing it quickly behind me. Knowing it locks automatically, I throw my key on my bed and grab some fresh clothes from my wardrobe.

I'm practically dripping sweat- we all were by the time we finished that three-hour workout.

I just know I won't be able to move tomorrow.

Jumping in the shower, I groan when the warm water hits my tired muscles, and I relax in seconds. I take my time in there, but eventually, figure I've been in there long enough when I notice my fingertips are all wrinkly.

I change into some baggy blue jeans and pair them with an oversized, light-grey shirt. Leaving my red hair down, I grab my phone and put on some shoes, before going down to the food hall for breakfast.

After grabbing some food, I carry it over to the table Luna, Diego and Marlow are sitting at.

"That was hell" Luna groans, and I pat her back. I'm sitting beside her on her right, with Marlow sitting opposite me, and Diego opposite Luna.

"Everything hurts" Diego groans, while Marlow looks at the two amused. "And we get to do it all again later" I remind them, smiling when they both groan.

Me and Marlow share a look, chuckling to ourselves.

Suddenly, there's shouting, and I look over to see what the commotion is. I see two girls yelling at each other, both being held back by their friends.

"Already?" Marlow groans. "I swear to god if this place turns into a more violent version of high school" I mutter, glaring at my plate.

"Right? Like, I'm here for the money. Not the petty drama" Diego huffs, and I nod in agreement. "I don't want to get involved in drama, but I'll gladly listen to it," Luna says, and I chuckle while the guys roll their eyes.

"What were you guys working as before this?" Luna asks, and we all go quietly, freezing slightly. "It was all illegal stuff, wasn't it? I have a theory they only recruit people who broke the law or something" Luna tells us, and I look at the others cautiously.

I then realise there was no point in hiding my old job. We're in a fucking training facility to work for a mafia. They won't care I used to steal a few necklaces.

"I stole shit" I speak up, and they all look at me. That seems to break the ice, being the first one to admit it. "Car theft," Luna says next. "Ex-convict" Diego admits. "Arsonist here" Marlow smiles.

"Hopefully there are no murders here" Diego mumbles, looking around. I do too, seeing if anyone gives off the murderer vibe.

"Is your hair dyed?" Marlow suddenly asks, looking at me. "No one's hair is naturally that red" Diego rolls his eyes, while I chuckle. "It's dyed," I tell Marlow, and he nods.

I dyed it first when I was eighteen, and I have been ever since. So..nearly ten years now.

"I wanted to dye my hair turquoise when I was younger" Marlow snorts. "I did dye my hair turquoise. Then a week later it faded into an ugly green" Luna winces at the memory.

"I like my natural hair," Diego says, running a hand through it. "Why?" Marlow asks.

Diego glares at him while Marlow laughs, clearly finding his joke hilarious.

"How do you know each other?" Luna asks before I could.

"We were friends for years, but haven't seen each other in two years," Diego tells us, and I nod just as Marlow snorts.

"Friends" Marlow chuckles quietly, and Diego glares at him while Marlow stares at him amused.

I look at Luna to see her biting back a laugh, and I let out a quiet laugh but play it off as a cough.

"So any of you guys hate anyone yet?" Luna asks, and I look at her confused. "You've been here like..one week" I remind her, and she shrugs.

"That's plenty of time to develop a hatred for someone," Luna tells me, and I look at her confused. "This girl has shoved past me twice, so I hate her" Marlow mutters.

"Black pixie cut?" Diego asks, and Marlow nods. "Same! I swear to god I'm going to shove her to the ground if she does it again" Diego says, and I chuckle.

"What do you guys think of the trainers?" Luna asks next. "I like Elijah. He's funny. Snow white is scary as shit though" Diego mumbles. "He could probably throw me across the gym in one hand if he wanted" Luna mumbles, while I laugh quietly.

"I nearly bumped into him today. Swear to god I was about to kneel to beg for forgiveness" Marlow says, and the others hum in agreement. "I would too" Luna nods.

"Imagine sparring with him" Diego snorts. "You'd have a better chance at survival by fighting a bull" Marlow chuckles.

"What about you Morgan? What are your thoughts on the snow giant?" Diego asks and they all turn to me.

I stifle my laugh, loving the nicknames Diego is coming up with.

"He's okay" I shrug. I feel going into detail about how attractive I find him probably isn't what they're asking. Plus, once I start talking, I've been told I don't stop.

I've lost multiple friends over the years because they say I give them headaches. I've annoyed multiple people with my endless chatter. And I'm adamant on not pissing these people off.

I've only known them a day, but I can tell they are nice people. And I desperately want friends in this place. So I won't scare them away.

"You've rather quiet, aren't you?" Marlow chuckles, and I roll my eyes. "Fuck off" I mumble, causing them all to laugh.

I can't help but smile slightly. It's been a while since I've had friends. Or simple people I can sit and talk to. Hopefully, I can manage to get them to stick around.
