Easy-Peasy

Singer:

Somebody like yourself, so innocent

Could never understand an artist's aching heart

Tearing up ourselves is what we do best, and so we

Write songs to pass the time

People always say it's so easy

Anyone can be famous, easy-peasy!

But everyone here's feeling queasy as can be

In Pomifiore you'll hear the sound of someone breaking down

The angry voice of our leader as he rants again

And the starry night after 'good night' is said

Is just so lovely

Even that much is plain to see

Insecurities run high on the stage set

The stress that's felt starts to get to me too

It lingers still when we return

Steps echo in the halls

A fire in his eyes

Slipping off his tongue

Was his good night to me

The fear of rejection

Or of being ignored

Is this the 'easy ride' people talk about?

We all dove in knowing how it would be

Hearing that feels like a slap to me!

Somebody like yourself, wouldn't get

That ugly jealousy that simmers in our chests

Always looking for an opportunity to hit and strike back

In Pomifiore you'll hear the sound of papers being torn apart

Or someone crying cause they didn't get the part

Or ranting about an old piece of poetry

Even though it's lovely....

So don't say the road to fame is easy

The stress, relentless, will beat down upon you

December creeping into your September heart

And their praise can lift you up

Like an addictive drug

Flying high, till you fall down again

Somebody like yourself, so innocent

Could never understand an artist's aching heart

I'm tired of living but I don't wanna die, and so I

Sing songs to pass the time

I feel it everyday, the words, the hate

The sheer disgust of people as they glance our way

And so I sing songs that hurt other people now

And songs with a soul, like the one your hearing now

I wanna tell you that it's so easy-peasy

I wanna tell you how the path to fame isn't hard

If I could say that, we wouldn't be here today

Braving their stares, as we finish putting on the play

The fire runs high on the stage set

And I could feel it get to me too

It's warmth lingers still when we return

And as we walked through the halls

I felt a fire in myself

Slipping off this tongue

Is my goodnight to you
