Chapter 2: Boyfriend's birthday

Engfa's POV

Like the other day, I tried to wash away the bad thinking that hindered me from being happy. To not feel guilty for not treating Tor right, I only have to reciprocate the same feelings as him. He deserves it after saving me from my toxic relationship with my exes.

Considering that his 27th birthday is coming this week, I wanted to make his day special and throw a big party for him. It's the perfect time to show how truly important he is to me. But I will not make it a surprise because he doesn't like surprises. I still remember how he gave me the silent treatment for surprising him on our 2nd anniversary, to which he returned to his angelic self a few hours later.

So, three days before his birthday, I told him about the event so he could invite her closest people and family to his party. Tor was very excited to know that I had done something to him, causing him to burst into tears from happiness.

"Babe~ you don't know what you're doing now makes me feel loved...I love you," He hugged me in his embracement with so much endearment.

"I love you too..." I replied because I needed to respond to him with the same answer, but my heart still felt empty for no reason. Yet, I still choose to stay with him because I don't want to be left alone.

During the birthday party, I made an effort to give Tor the best birthday party by setting up a rooftop party so everyone could enjoy the great view of the stars while partying all night long. Mini dance floors were spread everywhere with DJ alongside to allow our guests to dance their hearts away and relax. Alcohol drinks were also available since the birthday event was strictly for adults.

Here comes the highlight of the day: the big cakes arrived at the centre of the table, looking great and delicious. While I carried the cakes to the centre, I alerted everyone and the DJ to sing a birthday song for my boyfriend, and suddenly he felt quite shy from being the centre of attention.

"Happy 27th birthday, baby!" I sang to him. Before he blew out the candles on the cakes, he hugged me to show that he appreciated my effort in making this event work.

"Thank you, babe~" He then continued to shower me with kisses because he thought I deserved it.

Afterwards, I mingled with my boyfriend and greeted the guests individually to show our gratitude for coming to the party. Right then, Tor and I stumbled upon his long-time friend from his university, who looked unsteady to stand upright.

"Are you good, Win?" Tor tried to help out his friend by walking properly.

"Hey, bro!! Hppy biday one gain!" He slurred his speech which made me a little bit uncomfortable.

"Win... you should stop drinking, buddy," Tor prevented him from drinking the alcohol any further.

"I m in to fine!" He tapped my boyfriend's shoulder. I didn't want him to ruin the mood, so I asked him if he had brought his plus one to the party, and he nodded.

"Where is that person, Win?" I yelled at him because the background music was so loud.

"In dxa toilet!" He answered. Hence, I went straight to the bathroom to find his partner.
