Engfa's POV

When I looked at the back, she was already gone. I want to help her, but I'm in no place to force her into admitting that she is in an unhealthy relationship. It's her decision to decide whether she wants to talk about her problems or not.

Even so, I've only met her today, and I may not know the whole story, as Charlotte stated earlier, about her loving her boyfriend. But I couldn't help to think about her safety and felt uneasy about her situation as I didn't want history to repeat itself over and over again.

Maybe Tor can help me give the details about Win since they are friends. So, the next day, I focused on getting the information from him because I didn't want to take it lightly.

...

"By the way, babe, how is Win as a person? Is he a good person?" My question sounded weird when I asked about my boyfriend's friend.

"Hmm, as far as I remember, I would say he is normal, apart from his drinking problems, where he can be aggressive and lose control. Why do you want to know about Win, babe?" Tor then asked about it.

Because I have so much trust in Tor, I opened up about my suspicion of Win abusing Charlotte.

"I see why you think that way... but I am sure she's capable enough to make her own decision whether to report the abuse or not," Tor stated, but he saw my expressionless demeanour.

He continued, "I understood your good intention, babe but let's not jump to the conclusion that Win is the abuser. For the time being, maybe you could become Charlotte's friend and be supportive of her. That way, she might have the courage to tell what's actually going on."

"Alright, babe. But I don't know if she wanted to be friends with me after last night, though," I was reminded of what happened yesterday.

"She would love to be your friend, babe. I can assure you that because you are likeable and, not to mention, attractive~" Tor didn't forget to compliment me.

"Yeah, right..." I was embarrassed, not because I liked to hear the compliments, but because of how cringe it got me.

...

A week later, because of my work, I became busy, causing me to forget about Charlotte's problem. However, on the way home, I saw her again from where she had left that night. This time, she was sitting alone in the park.

Making her my friend doesn't happen easily, but I decided to see her anyway. As I approached Charlotte and sat next to her, she was still unaware of my existence because she closed her eyes while listening to music on her headphone.

Since she wasn't wearing makeup, the bumps from last week are still there but no longer apparent. I feel a bit relieved that her body is recovering, but I didn't expect my eyes to see more bruises when I looked at her exposed abdomen. I wouldn't notice the injuries if she didn't wear a crop top.

This is getting worse, and I can't ignore it any longer. After 10 minutes, Charlotte breathes out a big sigh, knowing someone is there with her. When she opened her eyes, she was shocked to see me and was about to run away from me again, but I didn't let her go. Instead, I hold onto her hand and bring her somewhere safe and quiet.

"What do you think you're doing?" She shouted angrily, trying to remove her hand from me.

"It scares me to see you get hurt again...I want to get the help you need before it's too late, " I spoke sincerely.

"Please let me help you and give yourself another chance to live a happier life..." I advised her to get the support she needed.
