I had been summoned to Master Korn's office, I wondered why.

When I came in, I bowed to him.

- I called you in to talk to you about something important. Please sit down.

I shyly sat down and rested my sweaty hands on my thighs.

- I had a meeting with a lawyer. He's in charge of Chan's estate and he was looking for you.

- Me?

- Yes, it seems that you are the only heir of Chan. The man looked for you at the former address but because you had left he had a hard time locating you.

- How can that be! I am his heir but I believed that he had a family!

- Look, I don't know the details, but he gave me a letter for you from Chan. You must go to his office to sign all the papers.

I grabbed the letter with some emotion, Chan had written me a letter. I was overwhelmed.

- I guess you'll need a few days off. Come back when you are ready.

- Thank you, Master Korn.

I walked out of the office and rushed to my room.

When I got inside I opened the envelope :

"My little New

If you receive this letter it is that I am no longer of this world.

I would like you to know that, even if I have not been very present, I always cared about you and your future. I only wanted the best for you.

I give you everything I have, it's not a lot but it will help you to have a better start in life and not to be worried about the money problems.

In return, I ask only one thing; I would like you to visit the island where I was born to meet my mother. She was very interested in getting to know you.

If you have any problem, you can contact my boss, Master Korn Theerapanyakul. I told him about it and he will help you.

My dear New I have always been very proud of you and I believe you will grow up to be a good man.

I have no talent to talk about emotional things but I want you to know that I loved you with all my heart.

I couldn't hold back my tears.

The door opened and Macau entered.

- New, are you okay?

I threw myself into his arms and cried.

Things are going badly these days.

Since I regained my position in the minor family I have been plagued by all the problems that were left unresolved during the period of crisis that we went through.

I need to visit with all of our partners, strengthen our partnerships, and get all of our business lines back on track.

I just want Kinn to acknowledge that he was right to put his faith in me.

But I miss Pete.

I wanted him to work side by side with me, but he refuses to leave Venice and the house for a single second. So now I'm on my own to do everything and that wasn't the deal to begin with. I'm mad at him because we had agreed to do it together, so why doesn't he help me?

When I come back at night, after a tiring day that often ended with a business dinner that I had to attend, I get yelled at because I come back too late, because I stink of alcohol, because I'm not tender enough with the baby...

Shit! I'm sick of it!

Besides, we barely make love anymore! And me, I want him all the time and I get pushed away.

Yet I love him so much that the simple fact of thinking of him like now is giving me a fever. I want us to get back to our complicity, our love games. From an exchanged glance we often tell each other everything "I love you, I want you, come and kiss me...".

Why did everything turn out to be so complicated all of a sudden?

He believes that I don't care about Venice but that' s not true. I love the kid but just like with Macau, I don't have the right gestures or the right words to show it.

Plus I can feel that Pete is troubled right now. He's having nightmares, he' s waking up in the middle of the night but we have been so busy that we have not yet found a moment to talk about it.

Nope comes into the room.

- Master, tonight you have a meeting with Jay to talk about the nightclub.

Oh no, just right! Jay is our hottest nightclub manager and happens to be an ex of mine. I really don't want to meet him because he is sticky and I really want to go home as soon as possible tonight.

We definitely need to work things out as soon as possible because I miss my Pete so much.
