Captured
Still as a moment
You see the pictures
Of what used to be
The past captured in a small rectangle
Colors that caught your eye
Your smiling face
That had changed over the years
Looking young
Then looking old
Captured
In one shoot
Reminding you
Of what you thought would happen
But never did
A fun childish person
Stares back at you
A tear falls down
Onto the old picture
But it's not from you
It's from your mother
Who is crying
Because she didn't expect this
She didn't want this
Then you wish
That you could change it
And tell the person in the picture
So they won't make th same mistakes
And they'll know what will come
What challenges they will face
Your mother stops crying
And gives a sweetly sad smile
And in a voice as a whisper
Reassured you
It's not your fault
It was never your fault
No one can predict
Of what would be
But everyone can remeber
What used to be
