"So Lory was the reason for all his anger?"
I made it sound like that when that wasn't always the case.
"Not without me saying that I had to work late. He always just came up with his own assumptions." The ring on my finger was going to burn my finger off.
I took it off and placed it in the pocket of my jeans. I never allowed myself to take it off but I needed to in this case. He'll laugh at me if I tell him.
"Tell me more about Lory herself. How has she been to you?"
"Lory was never mean to me." I rush to her defence because she really wasn't mean to me, she was just mean in general.
"I don't know that, you have to tell me how she's been to you. Dive into her character."
"There's not much to dive into. Lory has been here and there. She's my boss, I work for her."
"What about Lory as a friend? I heard you met her at a young age and you've been inseparable ever since."
My very own synopsis on his clipboard. My whole life summarized on a page and he has access to it all. I still don't feel violated, it's like I can trust him. I can and I'm going to try and trust him.
"Lory is my best friend and I'm her only friend. She may not say it but I know she loves me and my very big mouth." I laugh at memories where she'd sit there and listen to me, acting like she hates it. "We were inseparable and still sort of are. I wouldn't trade Lory for the nicest person on earth."
"So she's not the nicest person?"
I smile, shaking my head. "No but she's quite proud of it."
"Has she ever treated you badly?"
"She treats everyone the same...well that was until she met Ares but Lory has never been mean to me. Maybe because we've been together for most of my life. I don't know and I don't think I'll ever ask her why she hasn't given me the full Lorelai experience."
He smiles. The corner of his eyes wrinkle together.
I guess Lorelai likes me. More than she'd like to admit.
