MINI CALUM IS SO ADORABLE

my body ached as i turned on the kitchen light and made myself a glass of chocolate milk. i brought the cup up to my lips, smiling weakly when one of the bedroom doors opened and out came the little monster.

"why are you up my princess?" i asked cheekily, watching april pull out a chair and sit down. her legs swung out in front of her as she looked up, eyes widening at the chocolate milk on the counter.

"give me." she pouted, making grabby hands at the chocolately substance and i handed her the cup. she took a big sip before resting the cup between her legs. her small feet weren't even close to touching the floor yet.

"mind saying please next time?" i teased, pulling out a chair next to her and sitting down. she instantly propped her legs up and i smiled.

that's my girl

"maybe." she giggled, but pouted as i took the cup from her. i took an even bigger sip, holding out a finger telling her to wait till i was done and she crossed her arms. her small feet tapped my thigh and i handed her the cup so she could finish it.

it was quiet, the small glow from the kitchen made me want to fall asleep. i felt my eyes closing but i quickly snapped out of it realizing i needed to get april to bed.

she had dark brown hair and matching eyes, soft tan skin and if she wasn't a girl it would be a child version of me.

"come on kiddo, i shouldnt be giving you chocolate this late at night." i sighed, looking at the clock and reading 11:02pm. i watched her get up and push the chair in, her small feet patterd across the floor and she waited by her bedroom door.

i quickly washed the tall glass and dried it before placing it back in it's spot and joining april in her small room to kiss her goodnight. another yawn escaped my lips and i stretched before going back to the kitchen. i know i should be going to bed but being a single father isn't the easiest thing in the world.

i got april during the weekdays and she stayed with her mom on the weekends. i was glad i got more custody. my eyes glanced to the clock hanging on the wall and i took out my phone, calling michael. he picked up after a few rings.

"hi," i smiled, even though he couldn't see me. "can you come over? april is in bed."

"give me a few minutes, i'll be over in fifteen."

i hung up after saying goodbye and grabbed two beers from the fridge, popping one open and taking a big swing. the other sat on the table waiting for michael, who knocked on the door right when i finished mine.

he wore a baggy black sweater with flannel pajama bottoms. "were you sleeping? you could have gone back to bed i-"
