it's been a whole week and the day i've been dreading the most has finally come.

i leaned back into the couch, head resting on michael's shoulder as high pitch screaming fill the house.

"maya you can't do that!" one of april's friends snapped but it must have been for show because it followed by a loud eruption of giggling.

april had kept the door at a crack, a pair of feet casting a shadow from under the door and michael sighed. "i feel bad for leaving luke all day."

"he'll be fine. besides, it'd be weird having your teacher at your own sleepover." i huffed.

"what about ashton?" michael poked at my sides making me squirm.

"he's at a photoshoot."

"on a saturday night?" the lilac haired boy questioned curiously and i shrugged. "maybe it was an emergency."

"maybe." michael pointed out. "you two seemed weird when we got back from the trip. was everything okay?"

i shook my head no, knowing michael knows when i'm lying and it'd be pointless. "he moves around in his sleep."

michael laughed. "luke does the same thing, trust me, i've woken up under the bed before."

i chuckled, imagining it before shaking my head. "no it's like someone's touching him.  i don't know what happened but he's really shaken up about it."

michael's face softened and he nodded in understanding. "have you asked him about it?"

"i tried, he just turned me down." i frowned, remembering how he pushed me away. "do you think he's hiding something from me?"

"most likely." he shrugged. "i'll ask him about it?"

"no it's fine, i was going to talk to him about it tonight." i looked up at him. "and i was hoping you would watch over the girls?"

"it's fine, go do your thing." michael nudged me and i kissed his cheek, getting up from the couch. i pulled on a sweatshirt as it was already the first of december. my bare feet patted down the carpeted hallway, growing louder as i reached the steel stairs.

i slowly made my way up, now staring at ashton's door before bringing my hand up to it and knocking gently. it swung open a few seconds later. "so april's having a sleepover?"

"yeah." i answered quietly. "can i come in?"

"always." the curly haired boy smiled and moved out of the way. he only wore boxers, hair in a bun despite the few strands hanging out. i sat down on the couch and ashton sat down next to me, pulling me into his lap. "so why are you here on this fine night?"
