i  laughed loudly, seeing the sight in front of me as michael came through the door. april was on his shoulders, his hair a torn mess as charlie was holding his hand. "luke went to an interview for a new job and uh- i can't do this man." he bent forward and april scooted off his shoulders and onto the ground. he let loose on the backpack that was on his back and let it drop to the floor. "she's crazy."

"you were driving me crazy!" she spoke in defense and michael put his hands up and mouthed to me, "she's lying."

"anyways." he quickly cleared his throat once he saw april looking me looking at him. she has very keen senses when someone is talking about her. "mind keeping charlie here? i haven't uh- you know- with the you know who- in a very long you know what thanks friend!" he smiled cheerfully and left the door open as he walked out.

"you had one day to go kiddo what made you change your mind?" i retorted to my seven year old, seeing her cross her arms in defeat. it was sunday, having to come back tomorrow and i smiled when she couldn't reply. "come on, i'll make you chocolate milk."

i started to walk to the kitchen but froze when hearing her giggle. i turned around, seeing ashton lifting her onto his shoulders. "put me down!"

"you weren't moving! i had to do something." he said as he brought her towards the kitchen and flipped her over his shoulder making her giggle as he sat her down in the chair. i grabbed three cups, seeing charlie walk in and grabbing a fourth and ashton grabbed the milk and hershey syrup. the powder was a bit overrated now, there's more flavor when its all gooey like. i grabbed the milk from him and poured a decent amount into each cup, freezing when i felt him come behind me and start to put the syrup into each of them after i had finished pouring.

"i assume you plan on telling her or should i?" he asked quietly, taking the spoon from my hand and i realized i hadn't started mixing, just hovering the spoon over the cup. "we should both do it, together."

"that sounds like a plan then." he pressed a quick kiss to my cheek and i could tell he didn't mean to do it as he quickly stepped away and put the spoon in the sink. i grabbed two and ashton did the same, setting them down on the table as i sat down and took a long sip from my cup. it was quiet for a while before ashton finished his drink and decided to plug his phone in to the small stereo we had.

as soon as the music started to play i asked curiously, "since when do you listen to frank ocean?" i laughed, recognizing 'lost' and april nodded her head to the music. "i like it."

"you've corrupted her." i rolled my eyes and ashton shook his head. "you want to talk? april list all of green day's albums."

"american idot, nimrod, dookie, warning, insomniac-" ashton stopped her and i sunk into my chair. "dookie? thats like 1994 are you kidding me?"

"okay okay you got me." i hid behind my glass of chocolate milk and he smiled at me. "charlie you're a bit quiet today, what's running through your head?" i took another sip, waiting for his reply.

"i don't know, you guys are better to hang out with. all my dads do is make really loud noises at night-" as soon as the words came out of his mouth chocolate milk had flown out of my own. i coughed as ashton started laughing and april chimed in, "my dads do that to! they play jump rope all the time."

"ashton and i have come to an agreement to stay togther." i said quickly, changing the conversation and april put her fists in the air. "yes! i want to play twister with you guys."

ashton was on the floor, clutching has stomach as he laughed harder. "what's so funny?" charlie asked curiously and april tugged onto his arm. "let's go to my room, they're not the same after they start laughing."

i watched as the left and as soon as april's door shut i buried my face in my hands. "where did i go wrong in parenting?"

"maybe when you met me."

"no," i waved it off. "that's when i went right."

"oh so we're talking smack about sophie now are we?" he wiggled he eyesbrows and i smiled as i shook my head. "i don't talk smack."

"you're right, you take it." he laughed and i smacked his arm but as soon as he did he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. he kissed the side of my mouth and i looked at him confused before he said, "you didn't exactly wipe your mouth after the spit take. actually i've never seen you spit before either."

my cheeks went red and he kissed the other side of my mouth before pressed our lips together. "how are we going to do this?"

"we can figure it out tomorrow." i tugged at the bottom of his lip. "we can figure it out a long time from now."
