BONUS CHAPTER

BONUS CHAPTER: A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE (NEJI HYUGA's PoV)

Uncle visited Tenten once in the hospital. Apparently, it was uncle who first hired them. He had already been suspicious that someone near us was planning something and so he asked my father to pretend to be him. But what they both was not expecting was that it was someone so close. 

He thanked her personally for protecting my father during the course of their plan and for saving my life. Curiously and shockingly, my uncle who never liked anyone outside of family, instantly took a liking to Tenten. 

Well, who wouldn't like a panda, right?

"Is Tenten not coming back for Christmas?" Haruno asked, kicking me out of my own thoughts.

I shrugged in reply. "I don't know. It's really hard to keep contact whenever she's working,"

Which was true. As soon as the Winter Formal ended last week, Tenten once more had to leave in a hurry with no explanation. I was used to it. Or rather, forced to get used to it.

Tenten's job as an Akatsuki meant I would forver be in the dark about what she was doing since it contained sensitive informations. But as professional as she was, I couldn't help but be worried everytime she would be late at contacting me during the times we had agreed upon.

"Oh, I just remembered," Hinata chimed in. "Father has extended his invitations to you guys for the annual Christmas party we throw at the Hyuga Estate,"

Her statement was met with shock and screams. Not once have they been invited to it despite being friends with Hinata and I since childhood. My uncle, which meant Hinata's father, was a strict man who gave no importance to people he deemed below us. Though, the Uchiha family had always been invited, Sasuke Uchiha had never been simply because he was not interested.

Nor was I interested in it as a matter of fact. But as a Hyuga, I was required to be a good host. But this year, it might not be so bad with everyone attending. Truth be told though, they were only invited to come because Hinata had begged her father.

The night of the party came rolling faster than I would have liked it. I was assigned to greet all the guests by the gate with Hinata. Making sure that each of them had an invitation and to turn away those who does not have. 

Once all guests had arrived, the two of =us went to join them in the party. It was absolutely boring just like all the past years. Hinata and I were forced to make small talks before we could even reach where our friends were standing at. 

"This is such a huge party," Shikamaru commented, obviously wishing he was anywhere but there. But his girlfriend on the other hand looked like she was enjoying herself. 

As we were talking, the servers offered us some mocktails and we all took one. I looked around the party, somehow still expected a certain panda to show up but I knew it was impossible. My eyes widened though when I spotted another familiar figure.

I downed all my mocktail and gave my glass to Hinata who looked shocked. 

"It's her," I whispered harshly and her eyes copied mine.

She nodded. "I'll cover for you. Go," 

Without another word, I turned and left. 

HINATA HYUGA's PoV

"What was that all about?" Naruto asked me as soon as Neji left in a hurry.
