CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE
My head was still reeling with the sudden development. Hia—I mean Hizashi, or whatever his name was, couldn’t have been bothered to reveal to me his true identity? Well he was on the verge of death Tenten. Things might have slipped his mind.
My own conscience answered.
I picked my phone up my nightstand and excused myself from Hinata. She looked reluctant to let me leave the room—probably because I did not answer her question. But I didn’t give her another chance to ask it once more as I closed the door behind me.
I marched towards the clinic where Sasori should still be. Without bothering to knock, I pushed the door open and entered. Sasori was sitting by his desk. He looked over his shoulder and beckoned me in. Entering the clinic, I poked my head out once more to look at the hallways left and right. Since dinner was done, students and faculties alike are probably spending time in their rooms.
I closed the door and walked towards Sasori and dropped ‘Hizashi’s ring in his desk.
“My client wasn’t Hiashi freaking Hyuga,” I started. “There was no need to guard Hinata. At all!”
Sasori looked confused. “Then what are we doing here?”
I slapped a hand on top of the ring I drop on his table. “Because my client was actually his twin—Hizashi Hyuga,” I raised a hand to stop the obvious question Sasori was about to ask. “Don’t ask me why he came into the Akatsuki as his twin but there’s no mistaking it. Hinata herself told me that this is her uncle’s ring. And Neji Hyuga wasn’t getting caught up in his cousin’s trouble. He’s seriously the one in danger,”
Sasori slumped back on his chair and sighed. “So, what do you plan now?”
I took the ring back and put the necklace back on my neck once more. “Well, do I even have a choice? I might not have signed a contract but I did promise him. So I’m simply just changing my focus. If I could only move into the men’s dorm that would be great,”
Sasori turned to look at me with a smirk. My eyes widened when I realized what crazy idea was currently brewing in his equally crazy mind. I shook my head hard.
“No, no, no,” I repeatedly spat. “Definitely no. We’re not adding another Akatsuki here. Besides, I’m sure they have their own missions right now,”
~oOo~
“Oh? I’m definitely free right now,” the voice on the other side of the phone call stated and my hopes crushed right in front of me. “I just finished a hard one so a slow-pace mission like yours would actually be welcome,”
“See?” Sasori gloated, momentarily covering the phone to talk to me. “So, when’s the soonest you can come?”
There was a mixture of voices on the other side, probably Itachi and Konan talking about how long it would take to create new papers. I tapped my foot impatiently as I glared at the phone; half-wishing for it to burn down and half-wishing for the call to cut off.
Whatever between the two works fine for me.
“He’ll be there tomorrow,” Pein’s voice stated clearly with no space for any argument.
The questions I wanted to asked came back down my throat. Like how the hell would you be able to transfer someone so quickly? In freaking less than 24 hours! But whatever Pein said, Pein will definitely deliver.
“Tenten,” he called, his voice sent fear down my spine—it was his serious voice. “I do not mind sending you back-ups; in all honesty, I prefer sending them with you. But this is getting more complicated than we initially thought. When I deem it unsafe for you, you will return here without arguments. Am I clear?”
“Crystal,” I answered, my voice broke in fear. “Thanks,”
Once the phone call ending, I felt like two years of my life left me as I dealt with Pein. Sasori was silently laughing at me just because he wasn’t the one in trouble. I growled at him as I threw him his phone back. I marched towards the empty, clinic beds and jumped into the nearest one.
“Hey!” he reprimanded. “I’ll have you know I should already be locking this room,”I rolled my eyes at him as I patted the pillow to comfort-ness. “You should but you wouldn’t,”
He let out a low chuckle. “I’ll tell the Principal you’re a student of bad influence to the new, innocent, school doctor,”
It was my turn to let out a laugh. “If they see what you have under that lab coat of yours, they would run for the hills. So much for ‘innocent’,”
“Goodnight, Tenten,” was his mocking reply. “You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow,”~oOo~
“Hey, have you heard?” Ino excitedly asked over breakfast. “They said a senior transferred this morning,”
Sakura nodded. “This year is quite lively, huh? With Tenten transferring and then the new school doctor,”
“Before we wouldn’t even get a new teacher!” Naruto added.
I ate my breakfast beside Hyuga quietly, knowing any time now my world would be disrupted once more. There was only one person in the Akatsuki who could even pass as a student. A help is very much appreciated. The problem with the said ‘help was. . .
“Tenten!” a loud voice called from the door of the cafeteria and I groaned.
All head whipped towards the direction but I chose to ignore it. There was the sound of hurried footsteps getting near. I picked my tray up nonchalantly and scooted over Hyuga. He frowned at me but before he could say a word, a blond-hair guy flung into the table.
This was the problem with the said help.
He was more trouble than worth.
“Dei,” I sighed as he pulled his face off the table where he landed.
Deidara reminds me of Ino. They both liked jumping people as if they were dogs.
“Such a cold greeting,” he smirked before pulling me into a tight hug.
“Ehhhh???” the gang burst as one.
