CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
As I walked towards the cafeteria for breakfast, I was thinking of ways how to kill Kiba. At the moment, I had thought of 13 ways; which may or may not include gutting him. But for now, all my blades shall rest and rust under my bed. My mission was far more important than the reputation that I'll soon be leaving behind.
"What got you in a bad mood?" Sakura asked. "You've been scowling ever since you came back to the room last night,"
"Nothing," I shrugged.
The three of us entered the cafeteria. I expected to be greeted with curious stares but no one batted an eye. With a frown, I fell into the line. As Sakura and Hinata make small talks in front of me, I looked around for the freaking dog-like boy who had the photo.
I found him at the gang's table, chatting with Shino—who I rarely see join us. Then, Kiba met my eyes and he gave me a huge grin. My eye twitched in irritation and I turned to ignore him. I could hear his loud laughing despite our distance. Sakura and Hinata laughed softly in front of me.
"Kiba is being so loud this morning," Sakura tried talking as if she didn't find it funny but she was laughing herself.
The three of us got our breakfast and started towards the table. Kiba gave me a sickeningly, sweet greeting that everyone at the table turned to stare at him with a raised brow. I rolled my eyes at him before greeting him back in a monotone. He snickered before leaning into the table.
"You know, guys," he started, putting his arms on the table. "I found out something about Ten you'll all find interesting,"
Now all eyes on the table were on me and I glared at Kiba. The boy only smirked at me before he turned to Hyuga. "Isn't that right, Hyuga?"
Hyuga finally looked at him but remained passive. "And this concerns me how?"
I couldn't help but laugh at his statement since what Kiba was talking about definitely concerned him. All eyes returned to me. Ino lost it and slammed her hands on the table, looking back and forth between the three of us.
"Can somebody please just say it!" she screamed, gathering all the attention of the people inside the cafeteria.
Silence enveloped us as we all stared at her hysterics. Ino was the gossip queen. She probably couldn't take it that somebody knew something that she had no idea about. Kiba picked his backpack up to look for his phone. I threw a pea towards Hyuga which hit him in the shoulder. He turned to glare at me and I signaled him to Kiba, hoping he'd understand it.
His eyes widened when he finally connected the dots together. As soon as Kiba turned his phone for everyone to see, it was out of his hands. Hyuga was holding it. I saw the twitch of his eyes when he saw the picture before he quickly deleted it.
"Noooo!" Kiba screamed, taking his phone back and tried to recover the deleted data.
Everyone was definitely grown more curious but Hyuga only gave them a cold look before leaving the cafeteria without a word. At his actions, all curious eyes returned to me. I shrugged at them as I took a big bite out of my sandwich.
"What was that, Tenten?" Temari asked and I shook my head.
"No idea," I answered, smirking at Kiba.
He growled at me. Then, his lips rose to a triumphant smile. "Well, I guess Sasuke there's something you should—"
I hadn't given him the chance to finish his sentence before I threw my remaining sandwich at him. The all-meat I was eating splattered at his face, Naruto and Choji laughing beside him as they got caught in the crossfire.
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed. "I'm soo, soo sorry," I took a few napkins before running towards him and pretended to wipe the sauce off of him. "One more word and you'll regret it," I whispered menacingly.
Kiba's eyes widened in fear at the tone of my voice and he glanced up at me. His eyes searched me and I saw him gulped. Good. The message got across. He nodded at me and I smiled at me before returning to my façade.
"It was reflex!" I stated as he took the remaining napkins from my hands.
The whole table was laughing at Kiba's. But as Kiba was busy tidying himself up, Shino turned to me and asked me what it was all about. I sighed and gave them a look of defeat as I raised a hand in surrender.
"Fine, fine," I reluctantly admitted. "Kiba came last night when I was on the phone,"
"Aaannnddd?" Ino pushed.
I rolled my eyes at her impatience and continued. "He caught me on the phone with Hidan,"
"What does Hyuga have to do with that?" Shikamaru asked. Great. Even he was invested in this.
With another sigh, I answered. "I just happened to be badmouthing him,"
"And what does that got to do with me?" Little Uchiha interrupted.
I raised a hand in surrender. "Who said I was only badmouthing him?"
The whole table burst out into another loud laugh at my answer. Little Uchiha glared at me and I gave him a 'not my fault' gesture. He shook his head at me before leaving the table as well.
Well, at least little Uchiha hadn't found out. But it only meant that I needed to be more careful. This time I managed to stop Kiba and scared him into saying anything but the next time I might not be so lucky.
