It was the day of Halloween, and all the children were running wild, trying to get their costumes together for that night. For the first time in three years, they were letting them go into the city to trick or treat. Of course, this wasn't Xerxes's idea. Jeremias was the one that thought it would be fun to let the kids venture outside the gates of their community.

'It will be good for them to see other faces besides our own. Stop babying them, Xerxes. How do you expect them to grow up and be like us if you do?'

His words were true, but X still feared something happening to their youth. Then again, they were trained to protect themselves. Something that he didn't see himself doing, but he did. He started all of the children out at a young age. As of now, Avery and Harper were learning how to use knives and guns, and Takahiro was teaching them martial arts, which they seemed to enjoy.

"You're not dressing up, little brother?"

"T, you know I can't get out of that shit that easy. Ri picked out our costumes months ago. She got me in a damn monkey suit for her 20's gangster theme or some shit. How about you and Alexei?" He asked while his sister sat next to him. It was the one time of the day when Xerxes was usually alone and always took that time to watch television. Something that he liked besides what Riley wanted to look at.

"I haven't decided what I want to do yet. I'm just glad to be home, and I know you and dad are upset with me."

"I'm not upset with anyone... not about you and Alexei anyhow. I will ask you, though. Are you sure you want to carry this out? I'm not trying to stop whatever you two have going on, but Lexei doesn't peg me as the settling-down type. I think he's only marrying you because he thinks it will keep him alive when I was never planning on killing him. Dad, I can't speak for."

Xerxes wasn't going to lie. He did want to kill the bastard, but his sister claimed to be in love with the asshole. Still, it was something about him that he didn't like. Not as another Don because he knew other mafias did things differently, which he respected. Xerxes could sense that Alexei didn't have respect for women, and it wasn't going to change just because he married Talia.

"X, this is what I want."

"Well, prepare yourself to be disappointed. I told Alexei I would let you marry soon as possible, but you are on our soil, not the Russians. A few weeks won't hurt him, plus mom...."

"I want a small wedding. You, Riley, our parents, and Kon." She spoke as Xerxes raised a brow. That was something she had to talk to their mother about, not him. X could care less how they married, but a Don marrying his bride in their mother's eyes should be a major event.

"Talk to mom, yeah. Other than that, we have trick or treating to do... oh, tell Alexei the next time we have family night, dinner, or whatever else. He needs to be there because if he is marrying you, it makes him family. Don't you think it was a little strange you had to sit with his father and brother and not him?"

Talia nodded. It was the only thing she could do. Movie night, Alexei was missing. He also was missing this morning at breakfast but decided to pop up right at the end. Konstantin didn't like it, nor did their father, but Lia acted as if it was normal. Still, it wasn't Xerxes's problem. It was something Talia had to figure out on her own. Just like all the rest of them did.

Just like all the rest of them did
