"You good?" Xavier asked Shy after they finally docked and got off the boat later that day. He didn't think it did her good, plus she had been drinking, which caused her to be sick. Although Zay thought she would have been better now that they were off the boat.
"I don't know what the hell Elias gave me, but I'm never drinking shit he hands me again."
"Sure, you ain't pregnant?" Ava laughed as she held Shanice's curls out of her face. Zay and Shy gave her a look making the girl shrugged. He knew for sure Shy wasn't pregnant. It was one of the things they both were making sure wouldn't happen anytime soon.
"Maybe you're pregnant, Ava. I've noticed you have gained a little weight, especially around your waist area." Xavier said, making the girl look down and then back up at her cousin, confused, before shaking her head. He wasn't even sure if she was having sex, but he still was going to mess with her.
"I'm not pregnant, nor do I want to be. I like Chris and all, but I never said I wanted to be tied to the boy for life. I appreciate he's trying to learn the ropes of protecting himself, but Christopher is needy, and I don't need a needy nigga. So, no, I'm not pregnant, and if I was. I wouldn't have it." She said so bluntly. It wasn't anything that surprised Xavier because she had said it before. If she ever got pregnant by someone she didn't want to deal with, she was getting rid of it. It was her body, and they couldn't argue with that.
"Damn, well, don't bite your tongue then, but I'm not pregnant. Zavier and I are careful about that. I make sure I take my pill every day at the same time and make him use protection. If he can't wrap it up, he doesn't get any. Whatever Elias put in that drink didn't sit well with my stomach."
"Good plan. Can I ask you something, Xavier?" Ava asked as he nodded his head. "Is it only me, or are you waiting for the other shoe to drop? We've been in Jamaica for two weeks. Nothing has happened, and we know Ying Lee must know where we are. What if he is waiting for us to board our planes...."
"You worry too much, A. That will never happen because we aren't boarding the same planes that bought us to Jamaica to take us to Florida, and when we leave, we will board different planes again. Shit, they don't even come from the same location. There is nowhere he knows anything. It's going to take some time for the asshole to recover. He's down and wounded, while half of his men are dead. Plus, we are protected. Barkley men are all over this island along with ours. Stop fucking worrying and go to bed. It's late; we leave early in the morning. I got my fiancée."
"Do you think we can trust them?" The man who Ying Lee had appointed his underboss asked. He didn't know, but he wasn't going to tell him this. Lee was going out on a limb trusting others, not knowing if they were on his side or the other. It was hard to tell with these mafias.
"Stop worrying. I called, but they didn't return my call, which got me thinking of another route we should take. Many assassins are willing to take the job without caring who they are."
