"So, are we just going to sit on our asses, or are we going to go find Elijah?" Nicole asked, pacing the room while Xerxes and the rest glared at her. All of them understood her pain, but X already had a plan in motion, and if she had paid attention, she would have seen that Takahiro and Kamaria were missing.
"Bòidheach, sit Xerxes knows what he is doing. We are all worried, but sometimes you have to trust your gut. Our guts are telling us that Elijah is fine."
"Yeah, if his smart-ass mouth doesn't get him killed first. Come on, X. We have to think about that little brother. High or not, Elijah's mouth is just like dad's... fuck all of you. Every last one of you boys has dad's cockiness and hothead." Neveah spoke, and she was right. Elijah was a shit-talker. Whether he was high or sober, it was just worse when high.
"I know all of this, Vea, but I also know that Elijah is alive. He sent another code this morning. It was a little hard to make out at first, but...." Xerxes pointed at Leah, who was wearing a big grin as she hurried over, sitting in his lap. "Get the fuck off...."
"Oh, hush, boy! Now that code.... Elijah wants us to know he's on the way home. It was shaky because the asshole never paid attention when Vic... my dad, was teaching us the morse codes, but with his help, I got the message. Unlike my dumb ass brothers over there." Leah laughed as Vince and Zion gave her the finger. Somehow Leah was the smartest of the two and was just as crazy as her mom.
"When?" Xerxes questioned, taking the paper from her hand while Riley came over, pulling her up to sit in his lap herself, causing Leah let out a low chuckle. The difference between her and he mother was Leah knew how to keep her hands to herself unless she wanted to torture one of them or Jamon.
"Call Hiro and Mar! They don't need to board the jet, and Heav call dad...."
"I can call mom to get dad. He's in the city." She confirmed and quickly sent their mother a text. No telling what their father was doing; all Xerxes knew was when he when to the city. Only their mother could contact him, and it had been that way for years.
"Why must you lie to your children?" Adele asked, walking up to Luca sitting on the ledge of the building. This was the only time he felt he could escape this life and break free if that was possible. The less his children knew, the better.
"If they knew about my favorite spot, I would never have any peace, Liebe. You know that. Shit, they are fucking grown, all of them except one, and they act as if they were her age or their children's. I need this time to breathe and think, but for you to be up here means something is wrong. What is it?" He spoke, never looking back at his wife as he smiled, taking in the view in front of her.
"You should go grey. After all these years, you're still so sexy, and I believe with a full head of grey hair, Luca.... Mmmm. I mean, just look at Jeremiah."
"You want Jeremiah now?" Luca said with a chuckle. "But I think I like my hair the way it is. I made a promise to myself that I would never be grey. I bullied my father too much about it, and I don't want the same treatment from my children."
