"Shanice, when my son came to me and told me he wanted to marry you. Your father and I thought he was bullshitting and were reflecting on what happened between him and Jasira. Most of that was true. Then I started to see that he had an interest in you, one that he was scared to explore without putting this out there. Xavier already had his mind set on marrying you, and I think the boy loved you from the moment he met you. You were the only one he was defending when we were looking for which one of you was working with Madison. I was weary of you, but that all changed when you stepped up and stayed by my son's side when he needed you the most. For that, I thank you. I know your dad may not be here, but anytime you need a father figure, my door is always open. I love you for loving my son. Welcome to my family." Xerxes said, pulling Shanice into a hug.

She was trying not to cry, but he was making it hard not to. Shy knew he was hurting inside from what was going on with him, but he was still happy for her and his son as a parent should be. He also showed her the love her dad would have if he were there, which was a blessing to her and more.

"Thank you, and I love you too, X... He told me not to call him dad because X was good enough." She laughed, looking at Luca's face, but he nodded in understanding.

"That's fine, but we have something for you. As I tell everyone who marries into my family, we have a lot of family jewels due to my late evil-ass grandmother and the ones before her. This is the one I picked for you since you are the first to do the ocean theme wedding. My grandmother had to this made because they refused to sell her the real Heart of the Ocean. Therefore, she spent 5.5 million dollars getting a replica made. Now it is yours, and the earring is something I through with it." Luca laughed, opening the box he was holding, making Shanice's heart hammer through her chest. Both were beautiful, and they had to be crazy giving them to her.

"I-I can't

"I-I can't...."

"There is no such thing as, can't Shanice," Xerxes said as he put the necklace around her neck. "Pops will walk you down the aisle. So let's get you and my son married. Like I told him... love each other and don't bow to his needs if he isn't willing to do the same with you." He said, kissing the side of her head before leaving. Afterward, Rodney held his arm for her and walked them out to the beach.

"You should you ready for this. I mean, we can always turn back. I'll tell him that you hit me and ran." He laughed.

"No, I'm ready... let's do this." Shanice smiled as Rodney did a hand movement, and music started to play. She didn't expect the setup to be so beautiful, but she assumed this was why they didn't want her to see it beforehand, and before she knew it, Xavier was taking her hand and pulling her up to him with a smile.

"You ready to deal with me for life?"

"I think I should be asking you that question, Sonnenschein (sunshine), but yes." Xavier smiled, kissing her cheek as the priest cleared his throat behind them.
