"Xavier, I want to talk to you before the baby shower." His mother spoke as she stepped up beside him. Xavier tilted his head, wondering what he had done wrong now. She had asked him not to come back into her house, and he hadn't stepped foot inside it in six months, although it was technically his father's home.
"Why I haven't done anything, and you haven't said a single word to me since that morning. What do you need to speak to me about? To make me feel worse than I already do?"
"Do you have to be mean about it?"
"Yeah, I do. Do you want to know why? Because I made one mistake, you acted like it was the end of the world. I used to argue with Xylia cause of the way she only thought about herself, but in the past two years, I understand why she did. When I got locked up over bullshit, you only cared about how this would be on you, your image as a model, and me being your child. So you threw me under the bus to save your ass. When I tried to kill myself, you told me I was being spoil and selfish. I got carried away and slept with Shanice, but for you to kick me out of my room naked and yell how much of a fuck up I am in front of my siblings was uncalled for. I love Ma, but if you are here to tell me something that you think I have done wrong, you can walk back out the way you came."
Riley stood there for a moment, looking up at her son. He may have been a little harsh about it, but it was time for his mother to know he wasn't the little boy she thought he was. She had to accept that he was growing up. Xavier was eighteen, in college, and should have been still living with his parents until he was married, but his mother had kicked him out and then refused to talk to him. It wasn't like she was doing Xylia any better by telling her how much of a disappointment she was by getting pregnant, as if she didn't have them around the same age.
"I wanted to say I'm sorry. I was wrong, and I hope you can forgive me... you are welcome back in the house whenever you want to come. I love you, okay."
Xavier nodded, giving his mom a side hug as he kissed the top of her head. As he said, he loved his mother, but repairing their relationship would take some time. Right now, the only thing on his mind was making his twin happy as he walked over to the table to vote for what he thought her baby would be, even though he already knew.
"Shouldn't yuh be in blue and pink?"
"No, my Oma said white so that I wouldn't be biased. I don't care what I have as long as it is healthy. Boy or girl, they're going to be cute and loved. Oh, and spoiled as hell with me as a parent. Anyway, where is your wife?" Xylia spoke as Barkley looked from her to the ground.
"What's up, Bark? The old people are over there. Why are you over here in my twin's face?" Xavier asked as the man quickly turned around with a smirk. He didn't like the fact he was flirting with his sister and that he was married.
"Do Mi look old to yuh?"
"No, you don't. I would say you were about twenty-something...."
"Xylia, shut the fuck up!" Xavier said as his sister turned to him. He knew she was being nice. It was sad she knew how to flirt but couldn't see when someone was flirting with her. Barkley liked his sister, and it's been clear since the day he met her.
