In the living world, it was Halloween. The Human concept didn't exactly exist in Hell. But the demons did have something similar. It was another party at Stolas and Stella's mansion. She had invited many of her avian her friends (for whatever reason) and arranged for everything. Of course, he had no idea she had all this planned. She told him the day before. Naturally, he wasn't thrilled. But there was nothing he could so with her party literally being the next day. Stella was always doing things like this. Stolas couldn't take it anymore. He knew they had never gotten along and had only married upon order of the Goetia elites. But there was a limit to his patience. To get even, Stolas secretly invited his good Imp friend Blitzo. At least he would have someone to talk to and drink with.
The next day, the party kicked off when half the guests were present. Some of them brought little presents for Stella. The butlers and maids put them on a big side table in the living room. Blitzo walked in about half an hour later. Stolas immediately went to talk to him. Of course, Stella was pissed. This was her party. She wasn't going to stand for some lowly Imp who wasn't a servant in her house. It wasn't long before she had a plan to make him understand.
As the party was winding down, Stella excused herself to prepare. She patiently waited till her guests left. Then she put her scheme into action. Stolas found himself in another argument with his wife. It escalated quickly. Soon Stella had him pinned and her favorite kitchen knife in hand. At that moment, his friend Blitzo walked in. He had dropped his lucky charm and come back to look for it. But the sight before him made him freeze. His expression turned from surprise to rage. Blitzo had known about Stella's abusive and self-righteousness attitude. But this was crossing the line. He was done listening to Stolas and telling him to act.
Without a second thought, Blitzo pulled his gun out and fired. Ordinarily, this would not have killed a demon. But given his profession, he wielded a Heaven gun with blesses bullets. He dropped his gun as Stella staggered backward. His only regret was that he had not shot her sooner. But he couldn't just take a kid's mother away. This, however, was an exception. Stella had never had a heart. And she didn't need the one she had. Blitzo got Stolas outside and away from Stella. She was already near death anyway. Stolas quickly contacted the Goetia elites. He had told them about his troublesome marriage repeatedly. They only listened now. Blitzo explained himself as being the one Stolas had confided in many times. But it was finally over. Stolas was free at last and thanked his friend. As things settled down, Blitzo took his leave.
It was a huge relief with Stella gone. Stolas wandered through the halls. Her voice echoed in his head as he passed the family portrait. It rang in his ears as he skimmed the headlines. Stella's death was still on the front page and probably would be for the week. He sighed and fed the paper to the fire. Octavia was already cleaning out her mom's things. Some of them were sold. Others were donated. She was handling it well, much to her father's surprise. Stella and Octavia hadn't gotten along either. But it had been better compared to what Stolas had been forced to put up with since their arranged marriage. Stolas was proud of his precious daughter. If there was one good thing Stella had done for him, it was Octavia.
