"Should I take my thongs just in case?" Ashton held up his black and green Havianas in a question to me.
"Wear those in the winter of Scotland if you fancy frostbite." I answered. Ashton had one hour until he was meant to be at the airport to leave for Scotland and he had only just started packing his bag now.
"Okay, it's 8:26, we really have to go." he zipped up his suitcase and we headed out to his car.
"Calum's almost already there, he says he'll meet you in the terminal." I told him after reading a text off his phone for him while he was driving.
The night was warm, so we had the windows down and there was no radio on. Ashton and I had been out in Sydney all day yesterday. Anne Marie came over to Ashton's this morning to say goodbye to him, and hang out. Ashton told her that we had started dating.
"Good for you Ash! And for you, Callie. I'm not surprised at all. Told you that I could totally tell you two liked each other Ashton."
"Yep mum." Ashton said as I went red and he pinched my cheek.
And then it was 11:00 and we couldn't think of anything to do so Ashton said we could go kayaking.
"I probably won't be getting much exercise over in Scoty. I need to fit in what I can..."
"Okay then, health freak, kayaking sounds fine." I replied.
We went out to this beach with really flat water and used the kayaks out of Ashton's mum's garage. It had been fun, but my arms got tired so I put my paddle down and let him paddle for both of us. Since he was in front of me, I went quite a while without him noticing my bludging.
When it got way too hot, even for me, the slacker who probably needed to get fit so I could last longer then ten minutes when kayaking, I asked if we could go swimming instead. I didn't like salt water, or the creatures in it and I wasn't used to swimming with waves so we had to find somewhere else.
There was one he knew that was five minutes away, a public one where he said he took swimming lessons.
Ashton called Michael and asked if he wanted to come to the public pool with us. "Kid needs to get out of his room a little more." Ashton had said.
At the same time I had the job of calling Calum and asking. It couldn't be just us and Michael because when it came to these boys, where one went, four went.
"Oh hey Callie." he answered.
"Hi Calum. Ashton wants to know if you wanna come to the leisure pool with us."
"It's public?"
"Yep."
"Nah, thanks man. I'd rather not swim in pee. I'll catch up with him tonight, you coming?"
