"You guys could be remotely related you know." Ashton said to me after I finished convincing him that Luke and I were not long lost siblings or something.

"I'm sure there are hundreds of people with the last name Hemmings in this city alone, the chances are slight." I told him. I really hoped Luke and I weren't second cousins or so etching, that would be just weird. I was scared if the possibility though because I was born in Sydney and my parents were Aussie.

The teachers went about their usual business, making announcements and the sending us off to class. Only the seniors came to school in the first two periods, we started earlier and the rest of the school arrived during our recess.

First period was maths, I was good enough at maths but it was not what I enjoyed. I couldn't see myself working in any field involving mathematical training.

It kind of felt like my very first day again, that was only a week ago actually. I was less nervous and more calm. At our age everyone was pretty laid back on the social side of things therefore friendlier. A lot of people introduced themselves to me, for those people I was thankful; some of them would sit next to me in class or even introduce me to their friends.

After period two, in which I also had maths, a new guy friend I'd made, Nash, wanted me to hang with him and his group at recess so I followed him through a few blocks to a spot under a tree next to the basketball courts. His group wasn't hige, like the one I spent my recess with last week, but it was almost as big and also had a mixture of boys and girls.

I sat (yes this group actually sat) down next to Nash and some other guy. That boy turned to face me and I quickly took in his features while he took in mine. He had fairly long blonde hair, brown eyes and tanned skin. Undoubtedly a surfer.

Most girls would say his attractive and I bet so many girls liked him, but personally, I thought his face was quite ugly. It was hidden by his surfers' facade, I had never gone for surfers, not that I had really been for any guys in the first place.

What was I doing judging this boy before I even knew his name?

"Hey. I'm Riley." He outed his hand out for me to shakes. His voice was deep and just happened to sound like one of the hot lifeguard's voices off Bondi Rescue.

"Oh hey, I'm Callie." I said while shaking his hand. They were sweaty but at the sane time very hard. It was gross.

Before we could get any further into a conversation, the girl on the other side of Riley noticed us talking.

"Oh my gosh, you must be Callie!" she squeaked in a voice higher than mine. She sounded like a ten year old girl.

"Yes I am." I was always telling people this.

"Well hi I'm Casey and oh, how did you break your arm?" get voice stayed high the whole sentence, I wondered if it was her real voice or if she was just one of those people who put on higher voices when meeting new people like one of my old friends.

I let out a sigh before explaining how I broke my arm for the tenth time that day.

Everyone in the group was pretty nice and cool. I had a good time if you didn't count the explaining how I broke my arm too many times.

Nash was so sweet and funny and he made me smile a lot for no reason. It turned out he was in my next class as well.

So was Ashton.

He was sitting at a table alone and I really wanted to go sit with him and make him smile or even laugh but I was already with Nash and I couldn't just go sit with someone else. So I reluctantly sat down next to Nash who was still animatedly telling me about this vine he had seen.
