Sophia and I caught the train into the city and went shopping. And when I say shopping I mean, we dawdled around from shop to shop not really taking time to actually shop. Usually shopping with her ended in an empty bank account and a full wardrobe, but I think Sophia was too distracted by the sightseeing; it was her first time in Sydney.

"What do you plan on doing while I go to school Soph?" it was 5:00 in the evening and Sophia was sitting on my bed, painting her nails, while I prepared for school the next day.

"It's only six hours isn't it?"

"Well, yeah. School is seven thirty until around one. I leave at like quarter to seven in the morning though."

"I'll probably sleep until nine or ten, and then I'll only have a few hours to kill. Trust me, I'll probably be needing more time than that. I have big plans." she began blowing on her pink nails for them to dry.

"Oh yeah, such as." I raised my eyebrows and laughed at my bestfriend.

"Oh nevermind. We need to make plans for you." she nudged me lightly. I thought she was hinting at something.

"I'm not receiving your signals so clearly at the moment. What exactly are you hinting at?"

"Well, obviously Ashton." She rolled her eyes like it was that obvious.

God dammit. I could not keep myself from going all red and smiley as she said it. I attempted to put on my poker face but ended up breaking into a smile again.

"There aren't many plans to make." I continued on the conversation in the same manner as before.

"Now that he has taken you out, you have to show him you like him too."

"So you want me to ask him out?" I was only half joking. It was not something Sophia would usually say. She knew I would never ask a boy out first.

"No babe. Not that big. But we need to amp up your flirting game. It has become slightly rusty of late."

"I think you are a bit tired Soph. That will not be happening why don't we get our pjs on and watch a movie?"

Sophia shut up from there and we ended up skyping Leigh and then watching Katy Perry's movie before falling asleep in my queen bed.

Ashton didn't show at school for almost a whole week. All week I had been trying to resist the urge to search around for him. Every morning in the parking lot I would look around for his ute, and every time I looked for him and he wasn't there, I grew more and more disappointed.

I was sitting alone on a silver bench when I saw him for the first time all week. He was with his friend Isaac, the one he always seemed to be with at school but didn't really talk about. Isaac had the kind of skin that was perfectly clear and he looked like a perfect combination of some sort of Indian background mixed with Australian. Just a bit darker than the colour I turned when I had been in Hawaii for four weeks. His hair was quite short and reserved next to Ashton's mop of curls, and he was at least a head shorter than Ashton who was probably around six foot.

It was pretty cute, their bromance. Nothing really like Calum and Ash, but being me, I already shipped them as a bromance and had previously attempted to create a ship name for them, although I failed, both their initials being vowels.
