Chapter 14 - Zhu Xian Tai

Tian Jun, Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren made their way into the main hall of Lotus Pier. There, Yu Ziyuan and Jiang Fengmian are awaiting their punishments.

"Yu Ziyuan and Jiang Fengmian, due to your abuse and negligence towards Wei Wuxian, it caused him to lash out and lose control, threatening the realms of the people as well as cultivators and immortals. We are here today to give you the proper punishments you both deserve," Tian Jun explained, "I am going to give you a chance to defend yourselves but it will be useless."

"I am sorry I let the abuse happen. I didn't know of some of it. I will accept any punishment you decide to give me," Jiang Fengmian said.

"I do not, you ask Fengmian to watch that ungrateful brat but I wanted no part in it," Yu Ziyuan admitted.

"Yu Ziyuan and Jiang Fengmian, you are going to be coming with us to a place called Zhu Xian Tai. There, a cultivator, immortal, or celestial being holds no power. Once pushed off the terrace you will be judged for your crimes within. If the crime is too heavy, you will be torn into millions of pieces and your soul will never be reborn again. If the crime is light, You will live out your life as a mortal being, no more golden core. You will never be able to cultivate again and you will also never again be reborn once you have died. So you will have to let fate decide your course," Tian Jun explained, "That leaves your children, they will now run the Yunmeng Jiang Sect in your stead. If you survive, feel free to come and live with your children, but you will never be able to leave Lotus Pier once you return."

Yu Ziyuan was going to protest but Jiang Fengmian locked a pressure point to keep her from speaking. Tian Jun, Wei Changze, and Cangse Sanren arrived to Zhu Xian Tai with the two cultivators, "You can either jump together or one at a time," Wei Changze told them.

Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan stood at the edge of the terrace and looked down into the terrifying thunderous dark depths inside, "get on with it," a soldier said.

The two jumped in. As expected by Tian Jun, Yu Ziyuan's soul and body was ripped into pieces. She will never be reborn again. As for Jiang Fengmian, who just watched his wife die before his eyes, felt his spiritual power inside him dwindling down into nothing. Feeling as if he just got punched in the gut, his golden core burst into dust and dissipated. Jiang Fengmian will forever be a mortal and never to cultivate again, and once he dies, he will never be reborn. Jiang Fengmian continued to fall until he landed in the cold hard ground of the throne room of Lotus Pier.

"A-Die," Jiang Cheng said helping him up. Jiang Fengmian was covered in thousands of cuts, like he was cut by shards of glass, "what happened?"

"A'Cheng, you are the Sect Leader now, and all I can do, is guide you," Jiang Fengmian told him.

"A-Die, I will not let Wei Wuxian get away with this," Jiang Cheng stated angrily.

"No!" Jiang Fengmian told him, "leave him be or you will have the same fate as me or worse, like your mother's. She was torn into thousands of pieces right in front of me and all I could do was watch."

Jiang Cheng could only silently plot in his head to get Wei Wuxian back for hurting his family. The one family that took him in and let him live under their roof, eat their food. The thing is, he didn't know all of the abuse Yu Ziyuan has done to Wei Wuxian. He was now only driven by hate, and the need for vengeance for his parents.

In Cloud Recesses, Lan Xichen was in the Jingshi, reading through letters that have been sent to him from various sects and small clans. Lan Wangji was with him, as it was his place, and he was reading a scroll that was left with him from Wei Wuxian's parents. There were some others as well. Wei Wuxian's parents wanted Lan Wangji to learn the history and rules of the Celestial as much as possible, as he will one day be apart of it. A silver messenger butterfly made its way into The Jingshi and over to Lan Xichen and he listened to it carefully.

Lan Wangji sat up, "what is it?"

"That was a message from Cangse, she said Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan took their punishments," Lan Xichen explained, "the two were punished by something called Zhu Xian Tai. After jumping into it, Yu Ziyuan was ripped into pieces and her soul will never be reborn again. Jiang Fengmian lost his golden core and will never be able to cultivate again. Once he dies, he too, will never be reborn."

"I imagine Jiang Wanyin will not tolerate this," Lan Wangji said with a sigh.

"Jiang Cheng is now filled with anger and wants revenge one day. We will have to keep Wei Wuxian safe and close. Someone has to be with him at all times," Lan Xichen stated.

Lan Wangji nodded and looked at the egg they placed in a heated cauldron, "at least we will know what Wei Ying will look like as a child," he said, "will he still have the same personality or will it change?"

"We can try to be lenient with him on our rules and principles, I'd hate for him to feel caged. I know that in the past he was free spirited, I want him to be the same. Happy and smiling all the time," Lan Xichen explained and looked at Wangji, "maybe it will be good for you both this way as well...though it will seem weird, he may think of you as a parent but let's just hope he thinks of you as a foster brother or something like that for now."

"We will have to see what happens," Lan Wangji said, "who would have thought he is a god though. And a Phoenix at that...seeing him as a Phoenix, as himself, I don't know what to think of it."

Lan Xichen smiled, "it's incredible though, isn't it," he said, "that is your future husband to look forward to."

"Husband...you are not going to let that go," Lan Wangji said, "why would I marry another man? Isn't it frowned upon?"

"I heard in the celestial realm it is not...as long as it is love, then it is just love. It is normal these days," Lan Xichen told him, "with time, I guarantee you will know what you want."

Lan Wangji nodded as he continued to stare at the glistening golden egg. He did already have an interest the first day he laid his eyes on Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian was beautiful in Lan Wangji's eyes.  Lan Wangji noticed tips of Wei Wuxian's eyes and lips typically retain the hint of a smile. His skin was fair white and looked soft to the touch. His raven black hair decorated with a simple red ribbon. Lan Wangji actually now had that ribbon tied around his wrist, as he didn't want to part with it. Lan Xichen noticed Lan Wangji now lost in his thoughts and decided to leave him be. Lan Xichen just went back to reading and answering letters.
