Adri woke up in a wooden cell, aching in her head. She groaned before looking down in surprise. She was no longer wearing the flowy lilac dress. Instead, she was wearing a tight black dress and long black gloves with knee-high combat boots. She reached up to soothe her headache and was met with blood sticking in her hair.
"Hello?" Adri called out.
"Hey Princess, looks like you're not the only one here." Cassie drawled out, sitting on a cot hoisted on the back wall. It was then Adri realized she was right next to the cell opening. She looked out and saw that there was a surgical table under bright light, next to a statue that looked scary and lifelike.
"Okay, do you know who it was that sneaked up on you?" Adri questioned, moving to sit up. Her demeanor switched from an innocently scared-to-be mother to a feisty badass. Cassie hadn't quite caught onto it.
"Courtney. Apparently, the bitch didn't take to being told to woman up." She responded sarcastically. She was dressed in the complete opposite of Adri. A long flowy white gown. Cassie was one of the mothers who had a baby six months ago but was not pregnant.
"Okay, is Amy anywhere near us?" Adri went through her checklist of questions. She needed to find out if Amy was still alive. This is the first break in Courtney's pattern which was distressing, to say the least.
"I-I don't know," Cassie broke. Her tough-girl guise was cracking and Adri felt sorry for her.
"Okay, well let's get you out of here, and then I'll look for her. It'll be okay, Cassie." She consoled, moving to stand up. It was then that Cassie seemed surprised.
"You don't have a baby bump and you're acting completely different than earlier. Who are you?" Cassie demanded. Adri sighed, there was no point in lying.
"I'm not pregnant, you're right. My name is Adri. I go undercover to help solve cases where things don't seem all that logical. You can't tell me nothing seemed bizarre about these kidnappings." She stated, moving to sit next to Cassie.
"Well, I mean there was always a slight overlap. And it was odd that there was the bright light after every meeting."
"A bright light? Okay, Cassie, I need you to tell me everything you know about this case." Adri gently grasped Cassie's hand. "For Amy, okay?"
"Okay."
However as Cassie opened her mouth to speak, Adri crumpled in half. She cried out in pain, her hands immediately going to grip her head. Images flashed through her mind. First, it was Dean and Sam. They were on a plane, the plane was swooning downward. A black mist thickened around the people, feeding on fear and panic. Her eyes glowed gold, the plane was lifted to even out, and a golden mystical string wrapped around the body of the plane. All she could think was not my boys. Yet a loud clang on the bars of the cell she was kept in brought her out of her trance.
"Oopsies!" Courtney's voice rang out in a high pitch. Adri groaned while Cassie jumped. "Look my girls are awake, Borvo. Sally, everything is going to be okay. I promise." It seemed like she was attempting to be calm and soothing yet the only vibe coming from the pregnant woman was psycho. Adri had been interrupted from her visions before and she was well used to the daze and drained energy. If she had finished the vision, her adrenaline would be pumping for hours.
"What do you think you're doing, Courtney?"
"Well, I am going to help you. The little baby in your belly, the one that has issues, I'm your only shot at saving them. " Courtney consoled, before unlocking the cell and holding up a gun. She handed a pair of handcuffs to Adri and another to Cassie. "Put them on, quick." Too drained to fight yet, Adri complied. However, she kept analyzing her surroundings. Cassie was shaking behind her, the eminence of what was going to happen was still affecting her. Adri reached back to help Cassie put the handcuffs on, offering comforting gazes and touches as she did so.
