Episode 34: What are your plans after graduating?

Alvin: Well hello there, Team Alvin! I'm back with another-

Theodore: Um, don't you mean, Chipmunk Podcast?

Simon: Ugh, save your breath, Theodore.

Jeanette: We're back with another question, from a new commenter, @LORAINEJD!

All: Oooohhh!!!

Theodore: What does it say, Jeanette? What does it say?

Jeanette: Well, she asks: "What do you want to do when you grow up, after graduating in college/university, for example?"

Simon: Finally, a question I can relate to. I should probably go first, since this is my kinda thing.

Alvin: Alright, Big Brains. Go ahead.

Simon: I plan to become an advanced theoretical physicist, or something of the sort. You know, something challenging. After studying at a very prestigious university and graduating, I'll probably apply for an apprenticeship or internship to gain work experience, which I will then put on my resumé and curriculum vitae... Oh, that's CV, for layman's terms - or Alvin's terms.

Alvin: Ha ha, very funny. Besides, I don't know what a CV is either.

Jeanette: Seriously, Alvin? How will you get anywhere in life without knowing what a CV is?

Simon: That's the thing. He WON'T get anywhere.

Brittany: Me next!

Simon: Now hold on a sec; I wasn't done!

Brittany: Simon honey, you and I both know we'd be here all day if you were gonna talk about your future.

Simon: *crosses his arms* Fine.

Brittany: I wanna go to a performing arts college and study drama, where I'll go on to become a famous, well-known actress-

Alvin: *sniggers* Pssshh... yeah RIGHT.

Brittany: You really think you could do better? Alvin, you can barely spell your NAME.

Alvin: Rude! *mumbles under his breath* But also accurate...

Brittany: ANYWHO, as I was saying, I'll become a beautiful actress. Plus, I'll probably run a side business while I'm at it. A beauty parlour probably. And become a beautician, too.

Simon: Your future seems pretty adventurous, Brittany. Are you sure you'll be able to pull it all off?

Brittany: Hey! A girl can dream big, okay? Anyways, Theo, spotlight's on you now.

Theodore: Well, you guys know how much I loooove cooking... right?

Simon: I would never had guessed.

Theodore: Oh... really? Aw man! I like cooking, okay, Simon?

Simon: Theo, do you know what sarcasm is?

Theodore: Uhhh... *scratches his head* Yeah?

Alvin: Clearly NOT.

Theodore: Anyway, I wanna be a chef, and go to chef school!

Simon: Y-you mean, culinary school?

Theodore: Uh, y-yeah. That.

Eleanor: Well, Theodore, you and I have very similar goals in life. You see, I wanna be a chef too! Maybe, Theo, you and I could compete on MasterChef together!

Theodore: Really? Yayyy!!!

Eleanor: BUT, that's only gonna be a side job. I wanna train to become a professional footballer. You know, women empowerment, and all that. Women can play too, and I could crush any man. Anybody could challenge me.

Alvin: *sits up* I'm listening.

Eleanor: You and me, penalty shoot-outs. This afternoon.

Alvin: T-t-today? But-

Eleanor: Oh, unless, you think you can't do it.

Alvin: Of course I can! I just... need some time to train-

Eleanor: Chicken! BAWK-BAWK! BAWK-BAWK-

Alvin: Fine!

Jeanette: Umm... anyways... About MY future, I want to pursue literature. I mean, chemistry or physics was on my mind, but I'm not exactly an Einstein... or a Simon... when it comes to science.

Simon: *rubs his neck* Aww... Um, thanks, Jeanette!

Jeanette: It's true, Simon! I'm better at the books, and you're better with the chemicals!

Simon: If you aren't planning on being the next Einstein, like I am, you could become the next... Shakespeare!

Jeanette: Gee, that's a great idea!

Theodore: Wait! But isn't Shakespeare a guy?

Jeanette: *facepalms* Oh Theodore. Not literally. Anyways, I'm considering a professor in literature as a career, too. That's about me. Alvin, you're up.

Alvin: Well, well, well, saving the best for last, huh?

Brittany: Literally NOBODY was thinking that.

Alvin: Thank you, Britt. Anywho, my plans for the future?

Simon: Thanks for reminding us of the question. Any chance we could get an answer?

Alvin: Well... my plans... uhhh...

Simon: Some time TODAY would be nice?

Alvin: Pffft... footballer... I dunno.

Simon: Let me answer that for you. Based on how Alvin's doing currently at school, his plans would probably be something along the lines of: flunking school, not graduating at uni, asking Jeanette or me for some spare cash- since the two of us are most likely to earn the highest income-

Brittany & Eleanor: Uh, RUDE!

Jeanette: Aw, thanks!

Theodore: He's... not wrong, though.

Eleanor: Theo! Whose side are you on?

Theodore: Wait, there's sides?

Simon: And... yeah.

Alvin: Now that's just...! Ugh, you're not wrong. If I don't get my grades up now, I ain't goin nowhere.

Simon: With that grammar you definitely 'ain't goin nowhere'.

Eleanor: Aaaanyways, see y'all next time, fans!

All: BYEEE!!!

Alvin: Just to be clear, guys, I don't plan on ACTUALLY flunking school!

Simon: Unlikely.

Alvin: When I want your opinion I'll ask for it!
