Wedding Dress💜

A/N: This one shot takes place in a different time line where Dragons Rising and the merge didn't happen! This also takes place in a time line where Jay and Nya never told the ninja about Skybound only a few people remember.

Nya's POV
Today I pick out my wedding dress. This is the day I've been dreading and I think it shows. The guys have been asking if I'm getting second thoughts. That is definitely not it. I love Jay and it feels like torture to wait to get married.
Only Jay and Skyler know why it's stressful. That's why I asked Sky to come with me. P.I.X.A.L and Mom are coming too. That means I have to explain why I'm freaking out. NO WHITE. Well that's the color I'm trying to avoid.
Anything that looks remotely close to the dress, during what Jay and I call Skybound, is an automatic no.  The happiest day of my life will not be like one of the worst days of my life.
Jay actually suggested something less traditional since he wanted it to be nothing like that day either. Shit I wish I didn't have to relive this by explaining my problem with wedding dresses. Jay and Sky said I didn't have to but everyone already thinks I'm acting weird I need to explain so they don't assume the worst even though this sorta feels like the worst.
"Hey you ready to go shopping" Skyler peaked her head around the frame of my door. She was holding up her car keys waving them around. "No, not really" I said sighing getting up from my desk. Sky frowned. "Get what you want. Jay wouldn't care if you came dressed as a banana he'd still marry you. Couldn't say the same for Kia though" Skyler joked trying to make me feel better.
My mom walked in. Perfect timing. *Eye roll*. "Hey Mom" I said giving her a side hug. "I did not spend 7 hours pushing you out of my body just to get a SIDE hug. Give me a real one" my mother said giving her fierce "mom"stare. I gave her a "real" hug which was uncomfortable she was strangely strong for her age. Then again so is Wu and he is much older. I think.
"Hey Skyler it's nice to see you again" my mom said waving to her. "Nice to see you too Mrs. Smith" Sky responded. "Oh please dear call me Maya" my mom said placing a hand on Skyler's shoulder. Sky smiled.
"Am I late" P.I.X.A.L asked seeing all of us talking. "No you're fine. Just in time" I said grabbing my stuff. "Okay then let's go" My mom said excitedly grabbing Sky's hand and escorting her out of my room.
"Just one thing come into the living room" I said taking a deep breathe. Skyler looked at me knowingly but P.I.X.A.L and my mom looked super confused.
I motioned for them to sit down on the couch. They looked worried. "Honey are you alright" my mom asked clenching the cushion next to her. "Yeah yeah" I said. Hmm not really a lie.  Sky looked at me urging me to just tell them. She's right I shouldn't make this a big deal. I know she didn't say that but I'm pretending that's what she meant.
"Before we were reunited funnily enough a timeline was erased but it wasn't caused by Krux and Acronix." I start to explain. P.I.X.A.L looked at me attentively. "Then how?" Mom asks. I sigh. I don't favor bringing up the memories except for making little inside jokes with Jay.
I look to Sky for a little assistance. Other than this being a hard memory it's also hard to explain. "Have you ever heard about Djinn?" Skylar asked. "A djinn is a magical being who originate from the realm: Djinjago. They are like genies as they cast three wishes but they use wishes in a harmful manor." P.I.X.A.L stated matter of factly. "Wow that's better than how I would've put it," Skylar laughed.
"What's this question about?" Mom asked. "I think it's best if I start from the beginning..."

Nya's story pov
"It was right after we had defeated Morro and I found my true potential. We gained so much popularity and publicity we were now the number one celebrities in Ninjago. All the guys got attention about their hero duties but all I got was what makeup routine did I follow? Not to mention which ninja I was with. Looking back was taking out all the sexist things being thrown onto me on Jay. At that time he and I never got along. We had a rough go and I feel mostly responsible. Anyways one day we got a call about Clouse, Skylars dad's apprentice, being spotted at the city Stixx. On our way there we were spotted by a news copter. We knew Clouse probably got away and we just hoped he hadn't done anything serious. We learned that wasn't exactly the case. Our friends started going missing starting with Wu and Misako. We learned it was the djinn Nadakhan. He soon frames us all for different crimes and we were sent to jail. In jail we learned how to defeat him so we escaped. Kia was the first of us to fall into Nadakhans trap I still have no idea what he wished for. But Jay was supposed to stay with him in case he showed up. And later Jay wished to be rich to impress me and he didn't tell us that he used wishes. Well then Zane disappeared when on our way to extract a venom that would slow Nadakhan down. It was then revealed by Cole that Jay lied so we made him get the venom but he was taken. And we were trapped on the island. On the ship Jay let us know what Nadakhans plan was that he wanted to marry me. Fast forward. Jay and I managed to escape but only for me to be caught. That's when Jay built a team including Skylar. And I was stuck with the djinn. I was forced to wear an ugly wedding dress with floral patters and it was a classic princess wedding dress. Well Jay did mange to save the ninja but not in time before Nadakhan married me and got unlimited wishes. Jay had one wish left which was going to be to wish him mortal but I was hit by the venom too. And it just slows down a djinn but it was deadly to me. If it weren't for Jay wishing for me to take his hand and... I would still be dead."

Skylar looked at me gave comforting smile. "Oh honey!" Mom said crying a tear. "That's why you don't want white?" She asked brushing the hair from my eyes. I nod. "Well that makes sense sweetie. But you know this is your reality you have control. Don't let him control your wedding if white is what makes you uncomfortable don't but if it's just in spite," she trailed. I've never thought about it that way.
"I didn't really look at it that way. I mean I saw this one white dress," I smile to myself. "This whole day is for you to find the perfect dress! You don't have to make any decisions right away," Sky reminded me. I nod. "Let's do this," I smile.
I accepted a white dress as an option but I preferred and soon decided against sleeved dresses. I always wear a gi so I wanted something different. Besides, Jay is always talking about how I perfect arms. In retrospect he says that about everything about me.
"Hey Nya what about a a flowy dress to represent your element?" Skylar suggest. I love that idea. Pix found a really pretty dress that flowed at the bottom but was too bejeweled at the top. I want something classy but not diva.
Mom found a pant suit wedding gown and I loved it on the manakin but not on me.
After hours of searching it was feeling helpless we went to multiple stores and nothing made me feel like the brides on say yes to the dress. I wanted to feel and look perfect not just for Jay but for myself.
I was giving up hope when I stumbled upon a sleeveless dress with blue designs going from the waist to the chest. It had a flowy skirt that wasn't puffy but still looked like it was floating around the manakin. Mom saw me eyeing it. "Nya that one's pretty true it on."
I tried the dress on and I couldn't take my eyes off of myself. The dress was everything I could ever have wanted. I wandered out to the room where the girls were waiting. I held the dress up to refrain from tripping. My mom stood up with tears in her eyes. "Nya!" Oh no I think. "Mom don't make a big deal," I plead. "You're so beautiful," Skylar cried. "That dress is it Nya," Pix smiled sweetly. "I think so too," I couldn't be happier.

Since we saved the city so many times, the dress was completely compensated. I told them that I fully intended paying but they insisted. I thanked them deeply.
I kept the dress safe at my parents house to keep it from harm. Jay was on the couch looking miserable as my brother lectured him on proper hair care techniques. "I'm back," I say happily. "Nya! Thank the fsm," he jumps up from the sofa and gives me a kiss on the cheek. "Hey Sis, how'd it go you find the one?" Kia asked resting his arm on Jays shoulder as Jay nudged him off.
"I did." Jay smiles excitedly. "That's amazing!" Jay says pulling me into a hug. "I can't wait for you to see it," I say giving him a peck.
I really can't wait until I marry him. This wedding is everything that horrible one wasn't. Perfect dress, venue, and groom.
