This was supposed to be a sleeping beauty story but than it took a different direction. May be a bit traumatizing idk what I was thinking of at 3 in the morning but this is it. and to make the story zero SA Nadakhan doesn't like Nya or any of the ninja. In this I gave Jay some mommy issues and some daddy and weird teacher issues. Disclaimer I love Ed and Edna I just love angst too. Some of this is a little far fetched but whatever. This story also is mostly Jay but of course with Jaya... and is some what of the movie universe.
Tw: kidnapping, abuse, manipulation, depression with that said enjoy...
"Be careful sweetheart," Edna told her son as he began to leave the trailer. Jay sighed. "I always am," he says as he trips over the door stop. "You're missing a lot of school," Edna crossed her arms but not angrily. Jay stopped. "I have all A's except for that one class and it's not bad. But, I, I have to get to school before I do miss it."
Edna shook her head in worry. "He'll be fine Honey," Ed wrapped his arm around his wife in comfort. Edna nodded unsatisfied.
It took merely two minutes when he got to school when he was bombarded with 'fans'. The attention didn't bother him very much except on missions.
It's hard to save people when they're more focused on taking a selfie then on being rescued. He didn't have the worst of it though, that was Lloyd. However, the attention increased for Jay when he and Kai were voted hottest guys in their school and soon the district and so on. Only Kai was interested in teen magazines so he made everyone else be interested too.
Kai was incredibly pleased but Nya wasn't. She didn't fall into the jealous girl stereotype but when people tried to get with her boyfriend she would be protective, as for Jay, he would lose his mind if someone made a pass at Nya. He calculated in a calm way to make sure they stayed away. Other than that he was the sweetest guy.
No one had a problem with him except for this one peculiar teacher, Nadakhan.
Nadakhan was the ancient history teacher at Ninjago High. The ninja weren't fans of him because they obviously saw how unfairly Jay was treated in his class.
Nadakhan always gave Jay detention for things do silly it seemed almost cruel.
Sadly, it was that time again for Jay to attend ancient history.
"🚨" Jays watch alarmed, calling him to the warehouse. Jay sighed a breath of relief. "Sweet," Jay smiled than felt guilty knowing someone was probably in danger and it wasn't a laughing matter.
He met the ninja at their lockers. The teachers were all cool with them leaving now that they know what they were doing.
"Jay bet you're happy to get out of Mr. Nadakhan's class," Cole smirked. Zane called them ridiculous but he understood Jays relief. "Uh, obviously," Jay smiled pulling open his locker following his friends. "He's so strict! He's only like that to me!"
Cole and Zane gave Jay a sympathetic smile and then they were off.
...
The mission went well. Sort of. They stopped the bad guy, however; Jay broke his arm stopping an attack on a near by preschool near the fight. Because Jay has elemental powers, he will heal faster than the average person would but it still hurt and will take time to heal.
The ninja had all gotten trained and pretty well equipped at aiding injured citizens or their fellow teammates. Zane helped Jay with the cast.
Luckily for the ninja, they got back in time before their seventh period. Jay was pulled over during study period to speak with Nadakhan.
"I fully expect you to complete the missing work I assigned for today," he said crossly. Jay nodded. "Wha- yeah, got it." Nadakhan folded his arms. "Am I boring you?" Jay vigorously shook his head. "My arm just hur- " "I can't imagine how your parents allow you to parade around. That's detention Walker." "What?!" Jay cried. "That's so totally not cool," Jay pouted. "2 weeks," Nadakhan said sternly.
"If you miss it you will simply have to make up more time," with that he left leaving Jay slouching in astonishment.
Jay returned to his friends. "I have two week's detention. I mean come on man!" Cole patted his shoulder reassuringly but quickly apologized after realizing it was his hurt arm.
...
"Mom I'm home." When he got back his mom was waiting for him with her arms crossed, this time angrily. "What's wrong?" He looked at his father worriedly. "What happened to your arm?" His parents cried rushing to him. "I jumped in- in front of a mech from crushing a preschool." Jay explained. He looked up expecting his parents to be proud but all he saw was anger.
"What? I'm okay. What were you mad about before?"
"This!" His mom showed him the email about Jay's detention. Jay groaned.
"That was so unfair I didn't even do anything!" Jay complained. "Zip it mister, it says you've been ditching even when you're not on duties and getting into fights, being rude!" "What?" "Your, your mother and I, you're grounded."
"What?" His parents stood firm. "But you know why I was gone! I, I'm helping people," Jay cried.
"Don't be so proud of yourself Jay, you get hurt and so do your grades." Jay threw his arm up in frustration. "Oh it's one B Mom! I love what I do. Why aren't you proud of me?" Edna shook her head. "All I care about is your safety." "And not my happiness?"  "If it means you getting hurt? No." "Mom, Dad you are being totally uncool right now!" "You heard us. You're grounded." "For how long?" Jay whined. "Three weeks." "Wha- no. That's longer than I have detention for!" "And you are forbidden from continuing on as a ninja. It isn't safe and is only trouble. We won't let you ruin your future."
Jays heart began to break. "Being a ninja is my future! You can't stop me!"
"Excuse me?" Ed got up from the chair. "It's my life!" "Do not raise your voice at me young man!" "Then don't tell me what to do!"
"That's it," Edna said as she, too, got up from the chair. She barged into Jays room after Jay called out for an explanation. She came back just a moments later with Jay's extra gi. When she appeared it was shred into pieces.
Jay cried out. "Mom!" He felt tears start to prick his eyes. "We are your parents. We know what's best for you. While you're grounded you'll stay away from the ninja until further notice. Mr. Nadakhan has offered to make sure that you don't speak with them. He wrote us saying they're a bad influence."
"Of course he has! He hates me!" Edna ignored him. "I've taken your computer and video games. I have also taken your comics. You will not be using your phone unless it is to contact us. And your computer is for school only as-well. This is for what's best. Now go to your room. Study for the class you need to make up and then get some rest."
Jay couldn't hold back his tears. He ran to his room and fell to his bed. He had never seen his mother so upset before no less upset.
They were treating him like he was made of glass without a brain to direct him. He cried for hours. He hadn't cried in so long. The feeling was uncomfortable yet it wasn't in his control at the moment to make it stop.
His dad knocked on his door telling him dinner was ready but Jay turned it down.
Jay was thankful his parents didn't force him to eat.
He fell asleep feeling as crappy as before. He woke up to the same feeling. His arm was already half healed due to his element.
He had to get a ride from his dad since he couldn't drive because of his arm.
His dad tried talking to him but he shot Ed a glare warning him not bother trying. "Have a good day," Ed said but Jay shut the door before he could finish.
People gathered around whispering about how the blue ninja broke his arm. Jay sighed. When he walked into the building he saw both his friends and Mr. Nadakhan in the halls. Jay gulped.
"Jay!" Cole waved to him. Jay shook his head and straightened his face. He walked passed them without saying anything.
They looked at their friend in shock. Why was he ignoring them? It was very obvious he was.
"What's up with that?" Cole asked but kept facing the hallway. "I dunno probably avoiding a detention," Kai reasoned.
Jay plopped into his seat feeling defeated. Jay was immediately bombarded with: "Are you okay?" "What happened to your arm?" Jay just tuned it out for the most part.
He tuned out every sound except for the teachers. He normally would be struggling to pay attention and not talk but today he could only pay attention to the lesson or else he'd be left alone with his thoughts.
The bell rung to let the students out for lunch.
Jay groaned. He hadn't thought about what he was going to do at break. He thought his luck couldn't get worse but it did. An alert went off from Kai's wrist watch.
"I'll write up a note for you Kai," the teacher smiled waving off the students. Kai smiled. "Don't forget about Jay." Jay gulped. "Of course," she smiled sweetly. Jay shook his head.
"N-no don't. I'm not uh leaving," Jay gave a quick glance at the teacher before collecting his things and leaving the classroom.
Kai darted out of the class. He stopped though figuring that Jay's arm needed another day to heal.
But it wasn't a day. It was two weeks. Jay's arm was fully healed so everyone expected him to return to being a ninja but he didn't nor did he return to hanging around his friends.
The ninja tried asking him what was wrong but he left before they could get a word out until Nya finally managed to catch him...
"Jay, please what's going on with you?"
Jay did all he could not to look at her. But when he thought of it he wasn't supposed to talk to the ninja or his friends, he was never told not to speak with his girlfriend.
"I'm just going through things right now," Jay explained.
Nya rolled her eyes. "So talk to me! Please? I just don't understand!"
"Nya please, people might hear me talking to you!"
Nya's heart dropped. It felt like someone punched her in the gut.
"Someone might hear me talking to you?"
"I didn't mean-"
"No I think that's exactly what you meant. Want to quit being a ninja? Fine. I won't care to ask why anymore let alone care for someone who doesn't want to be seen with me."
This was harsh but Nya was deeply hurt.
"Nya-wait!" Jay tried taking Nya's hand but she pulled sharply out of his grip.
Jay stood there in shock. Did they just...break up?
This can't get worse can it Jay thought to himself until he heard a familiar voice clear their throat.
"Mr. Walker, I thought your parents," Mr. Nadakhan had a twisted sort of angry fluctuation when saying the words "your parents", "told you to stay away from them."
"Why do you care?" Jay let that slip out but he already said it so no point in trying to deny it.
"Excuse me?" Mr. Nadakhan crossed his arms angrily.
"I'm being serious! Why do you care? I just don't get it? What makes you need to make my life miserable!?" Jay knew immediately what was going to happen next.
"Detention Walker!"
Knew it, Jay thought. Jay left heading towards the classroom where detention would be held that day in Mr. Nadakhan's room.
...
When Jay got home he was severely scorned.
"Well, maybe if I had friends I wouldn't be so miserable!" Jay yelled. Edna shook her head.
"You're only proving to me that you're not ready to socialize with them!"
Jay groaned in frustration.
"FSM! Nya broke up with me because of your stupid rules. And I loved her and it's all your fault!" Jay cried.
Edna had a sudden feeling of guilt but she shook it off as fast it came to her.
"My rules keep you safe and responsible.  You'll understand one day now go to your room. And if I hear one more time that you're communicating with the ninja, you will be taken from school and home schooled."
Jay's heart dropped.
He nodded not daring to test his mother any further.
Weeks went on and Jay managed to get his grade up in Mr. Nadakhan's class which his parents were happy about. Mr. Nadakhan would now make comments about Jay having no friends. Every time he tried telling his parents they would brush him off.
They did give him back his computer and video games but he didn't want them. He wanted his friends.
He thought they hated him, no, he knew they did. His fear only grew worse after today...
It was once again lunch time for the students at Ninjago High School when Kai's wrist watch alarmed.
Jay tried slipping away but Kai pulled his arm.
Jay started to sweat and panic because they were attracting attention. People knew Jay hadn't been present on missions, but not why; no one did. They all listened in trying to seem invisible but were failing to do so.
"Jay what the hell is going on?" Kai asked half worried and half annoyed. Jay groaned. "Let go of me Kai," Jay whispered. "Not until you tell me why you've been flaking on us!" Kai sort of shouted the last part.
"You don't understand leave me alone," Jay whispered once again trying his best not to hug Kai and tell him everything.
"Then tell me. Since when did we not tell each other everything? Huh? You took off Nya's scarf? Whatever you're going through doesn't give you the right to be selfish!" Jay shook his head and narrowed his eyes. "I've had lunch detention every day for the past two weeks how about that?"
Kai rolled his eyes.
"Oh please that never stopped you before!"
"It's the truth so drop it Kai," Jay warned. "You know it's pathetic, you always ran from your problems,"
"Kai please,"
"Then tell me why you're such a fucking loser who would give up on their friends and only friends who would accept him!"
"I QUIT! That's what!" Jay pushed Kai off of him. "Go save the city! You didn't need me anyway." Jay yelled feeling a lump in his throat.
"You coward!"
Jay stopped in his tracks wanting to turn around but he continued away but if he cleared things up he would be home schooled. At this point that wasn't too bad to him.
Jay walked angrily; he was always afraid that he was seen as weak and well... a coward. He confided in his friend about this. He knew his friends deserved better and an explanation but that was a low blow.
Jay turned the corner and was walking off to class. He wasn't looking where he was going and bumped into Mr. Nadakhan.
"Quite impressive," he sneered down at the teenager. "I was meaning to speak with you. Head into my classroom I'll be there in a moment."
Jay didn't protest seeing as he had now zero friends and if he did he'd be taken out of the school. Jay went into the classroom and couldn't help but think.
This was all of Mr. Nadakhan's fault. Wasn't it? What was his problem with him anyway? He had never done anything to him except be a little chatty in class once or twice.
Jay, against his better judgment, went over to the desk.
"He's gotta have something off about him."
Jay shuffled through the drawers being semi-conscious of the way he went about his search.
He found nothing much but what was to be expected from a teachers desk such as papers, pencils, and such.
He was about to give up when he hit a secret compartment.
His eyes widened at the contents. He found a photo of him with a smiley mark on it. He took the photo reveling all different things in common with the photo. He found newspaper clippings that were all relatively old. Some were highlighted.
He read one paragraph in particular:
Beloved citizen, wife and mother downtown Djinjago dies at 32. Tragedy strikes. Cancer won the battle last night. The now widowed Mr.Djinn is raising their son on his own.
Jay put down the clip. He picked up the one that laid next to it.
Mr.Djinn's child removed from his custody permanently after three months of his wife's death for illegal activities. Child abuse was not found but police say he has been charged with negligence and a misdemeanor in child abuse. The situation is still unclear. However the two years old boy has been taken to live with a caring family.
He looked at a note. It read: I will take back what's mine.
"This has to be him." Jay frowned. He shook his head. But there was more. He had odd papers tracing back long before his wife's death.
He continued to sort out papers hastily when he found an official looking document. He pulled it out. It was an adoption certificate. It had his name on it. His birthday, birth weight, sex, time of birth, blood type, all of it!
At the bottom it showed as adoption being revoked and transferred to another family. The family wasn't stated.
Jay felt his world spinning. He was adopted and was originally adopted by his secretly evil teacher?!
His parents lied to him too.
He couldn't believe it he didn't want to believe it. When he went to put the papers back he accidentally hit a hidden lever. He pulled it back cautiously.
A chamber with large stone steps appeared. "What the hell? How many secrets does he have?!" Jay whispered. Nadakhan was going to be back soon. He pulled the lever back. This was the proof he needed along with all that other evidence or whatever this all was.
Once he showed this to the principal and his parents, adopted parents, he'd get his life back to "normal" and Nadakhan would be gone.
He heard the door open and Mr. Nadakhan walked in.
His heart was beating loudly but he did his best keep his cool. He felt stupid for not grabbing the photo evidence when he had the chance and then putting it back. He mentally face palmed.
"Mr. Walker, please sit." Jay nodded his heart beating out of his chest.  He sat down in the chair closest to the door. Mr. Nadakhan walked over to him.
"What'd you want to talk about?" Jay asked sweating.
"I wanted to commend you on your improvement in my class."
Jay tensed up. Was this a trap?
"Um thank-" "But don't think that means you can run back galavanting with your little friends."
There it was. "Yeah I know," Jay sighed. "You're n-not going to tell my parents are you?"
"Concerned Mr. Walker if I were to do so?"
"I assume they told you I'd be...home schooled." This seemed to upset Nadakhan, Jay now had a suspicion why. But he quickly changed his startled expression to one more lax. "No only to express my gratitude for your behavior change." Mr. Nadakhan snared. Jay gave a sigh of relief.
"Well go on then you, you need to be studying." Jay gladly scurried out of there.
He hadn't noticed until now but Nadakhan's interactions with him seemed to be actually quite similar to strict parenting.
•Always have good posture
•No sugar
•No video games
•Join clubs
•Always work on homework
•Insulting how he was raised
•No fun
He felt like he was going to have a heart attack. He had to find his friends no matter the consequences.
...
Jay waited until the end of the school day when he saw his friends. He was nervous but this was important.
"Guys!" He shouted quietly to the ninja. They all turned their attention to him. Most of them rolled their eyes but Nya and Zane stared waiting.
"I need your help!" Jay whispered with urgency in his voice. "Ha! Why would we help you? All you've done is abandon and ignore us!" Kai shouted. "Shhhh!" Jay cried. "I had to, it was Mr. Nada-" "Save it Jay," Lloyd joined. Jay couldn't believe Lloyd wouldn't listen either.
"You have to hear me out!" "No, we don't," Cole said crossly. "Cole come on?" "Help yourself," Kai said "But he has this basement-" Nobody listened. Kai nodded to Cole for them to leave.
"Guys? I'm risking so much! I'm going to be homeschooled just by talking to you!" They started to walk away. Nya was the last waiting. "I never meant to hurt you," Jay said breathlessly. "But you did."
"Nya-" "I just need space." Jay stood there alone. He was totally friendless. He had to get the proof.
The school was locked for the day since Wednesdays there were no clubs or after school hours. He would have to wait. He wasn't going to be stopped by breaking in.
When Jay got home he decided to mention the adoption thing but leave out the evil stuff. He entered the door and closed it quietly.
His parents were sitting at the coffee table waiting to greet him.
"Hey Kiddo," Ed smiled, "how was school?"
Jay looked up at his parents with a blank expression. "Educating," he said plainly.
"Well that's good," Ed smiled.
"What'd you learn?" Edna inquired neither of them aware of the bombshell that was about to go off.
"It's actually funny, I thought you would have told me seeing as I'm 17 almost 18 but maybe there's never a good time to tell someone they're adopted."
Ed and Edna's faced drained of color. "H-how did you-"
"Does that matter?"
"Yes!" Edna shouted.
"I found out on my own!"
"Jay we wanted to tell you," Ed said quickly intervening before it got ugly.
"Yeah but you didn't," Ed and Edna hung their heads in shame.
"Jay-"
"I've done everything you've asked of me, and you've been lying to me this entire time? I get it now you can't trust me because you can't even trust yourselves to be good parents."
Before his parents could try and explain he left and closed the door and locked it shut.
Edna and Ed didn't dare open it.
They felt so ashamed. But they only wanted what was best for him, but was it?
...
In the morning Jay decided to walk. He didn't feel like talking or even seeing his parents. He knew that that conversation was going to be hard but he didn't know how draining it would be, more draining than most conversations he'd been having with them lately.
When he got to school he saw the ninja talking with each other until they saw him. Jay didn't wave or anything he just stood there sadly.
The group shook their heads some rolled their eyes and walked away.
Jay wished that he could go to them. Why was this happening to him?
...
Jay waited until the school assembly which was coincidentally taking place the following day. He snuck out of the gym to head to the history classroom where Nadakhan taught. The door was thankfully unlocked. He slid in and walked up to the desk.
Jay collected the photo of himself with the x on his face, the news paper highlight, the note, and the revoked adoption papers.
He shoved the rest of the things back into the desk and made sure to close it when Jay was startled by Mr. Nadakhan entering the room. Jay held it behind his back.
"Mr. Walker, what are you doing here and not in the assembly? And what is that you're holding behind your back?" Mr. Nadakhan inquired. "Homework that's missing to make up." The teacher pursed his lips. "Hand it to me." "Uh...no?" Mr. Nadakhan was now annoyed. "Now!" He demanded. Jay shook his head. He tried walking past him but Mr. Nadakhan grabbed his arm. "Let me go!" Jay shouted. Nadakhan ripped the things from his hand.
Jay's heart beat out from within his chest.
"How unfortunate," Mr. Nadakhan clicked his tongue.
Jay struggled to get out of his grasp. "Y-yeah that you're about to be fired," Jay stuttered but sounded fairly confident.
"I don't think so," Jay now felt a cold sweat.
Nadakhan wrapped his arm around Jays neck covering his mouth and held his two arms behind his back.
Jay tried to escape his grasp by using his lighting but he accidentally hit the generator causing the power to go out.
Great, he thought. Jay tried again but Mr. Nadakhan was much bigger and shockingly stronger. Jay wriggled out of his grasp but hit his back on the wall. "What is wrong with you?!" Jay shouted.
"You and I both know it's always been YOU!"
Jay dived away from the teacher banging his healed arm against the desk when he remembered the lever.
He scurried to the desks front and frantically pulled open the drawer. This time he messily pulled the lever.
His plan was to either run down there or get Nadakhan to go down there. Nadakhan got the upper hand and shoved Jay down the chamber steps. Jay went crashing down. He struggled to get up but he started to run. It was dark and he could barley see anything.
He came to a dead end.
"Oh no..." he heard Nadakhan's evil laugh echo off the walls.
"You think you can run?" It was hopeless. Nadakhan grasped onto Jay's throat.
Jay cried out struggling. Nadakhan was so forceful he was loosing oxygen fast.
Everything started to fade. "L-let go..." The last thing he remembered was feeling his feet leave the comfort of the ground and hearing a distorted voice say: "Thank you for the help."
...
When Jay woke up he was chained to a wall with venge stone chains. His vision slowly returned to normal. He looked around frantically. He noticed the room looked to be a nursery. It was blue with pictures of sheep and a car themed mobile over a crib.
What was this place? His blood ran cold when he saw a baby blanket with his name on it. Was this supposed to be his?
He tried to scream but he was gagged. He did however, catch the attention of Mr. Nadakhan.
Jay crawled back to the wall. "He's awake," Nadakhan smirked. Jay tried to put on a brave face and glared at his captor.
"I would tell you why you are here but I'm aware that you know."
Jay whimpered through the gag as Nadakhan crept closer.
Nadakhan leaned down and faced Jay. Jay tried looking away but Nadakhan grabbed Jay's chin and directed his attention towards him.
A tear of anger trickled down Jay's face. Nadakhan wiped it away with his thumb which made Jay shiver. "Do not be afraid, you know the truth now, you are where you are meant to be."
He took the gag out from Jay's mouth. He coughed as he could finally breathe properly. "This is crazy! You're insane! Just let me go!" Nadakhan sighed. "All parents are a little crazy." "What? You're not a parent! I have parents!" Nadakhan looked down and smiled. "You had parents, your mother was taken from us too soon."
Jay looked around for a way to escape.
"No! My parents live at the junkyard!"
"This is where you lived, this is where you are supposed to be! A junkyard is no place for a child."
Jay struggled through the chains.
"And a prison is?"
"This is only temporary, it's only until you realize that you're safe now."
"Safe? I'm safe with my Mom and Dad! Let me go!"
Nadakhan's face grew angry.
"See? You're in denial. It's ok. I'll help you. I'm going to fix everything. Your real father is here now."
"You're not my father!"
Now Nadakhan was really angry he shoved the gag back into Jay's mouth.
Jay cried out.
"Everything will be okay my son," Nadakhan said kneeling down and kissing Jay's forehead in a parental way.
Jay cringed and winced at this action. This was so messed up!
...
Two months later and the ninja were all hanging out in the warehouse feeling as if there was an elephant int the room.
"Maybe we were too harsh?" Cole said breaking the silence. The ninja turned their attention to him without giving him an answer.
"I mean what if there is a good reason why he ignored us? I mean it's not like Jay to be quiet," Cole reasoned feeling incredibly guilty. "Cole could be right Kai, he hasn't been in school for the past two days."
Kai rolled his eyes. "He quit on us Cole and Nya he broke up with you! Besides he's probably being homeschooled now like he said."
"He didn't explicitly say he broke up with me. I did kind of. And it'll be our faults if he is!"
Kai rolled his eyes again. He didn't know why this bugged him so much or why he was so angry.
"And what if it was for a good reason! Him stopping being a ninja...being our friend."
"When we have a problem we go to each other," Lloyd joined in.
"Like how you came to us with the ultimate weapon?"
Now everyone's attention was focused on the black ninja.
Lloyd was going to protest but he couldn't, luckily, he didn't have to as their sensei entered with a sunken expression.
"Students."
"Yes sensei," the ninja replied.
"Have any of you seen Jay?"
The ninja shook their heads.
"We were just discussing about him," Zane told his master.
"We haven't for two um months."
"Neither has his parents nor anyone else for that matter."
"What? He's not being homeschooled?" Everyone said in unison now concerned. Wu shook his head.
"Did he run away?" Lloyd asked.
"There are no signs of him running away, it's been to long anyhow" Wu sighed.
The room was silent.
"Ninja, we have a new mission, it's time to find our missing friend."
...
It's been two months! Jay can't take it. His wrists are so sore they started to bleed. He kept begging to be let go but it was no use.
"I have a present for you," Jay heard Nadakhan call from outside the door. "I don't want it!" Jay shouted in response.
The door opened with a loud bang. "Oh I think you'll want it," Nadakhan smiled.
"I don't want anything from you but my freedom you psycho!"
His captor shook his head "That's no way to speak to your father."
"You're not my father! My father is Ed Walker and he's a better father than you could ever be! He wouldn't fucking imprison me for two months!"
This angered Nadakhan very much.
He yanked Jay's chains pulling him to his feet startling him.
"Were you not forced to stay inside without any contact with your friends? Whose decision was that?"
Jay sighed. It was true but at least he could walk around.
"Still!"
"He is not your father! You were taken from me! So say goodbye to any thought of him as your father or as alive,"
In his hand Nadakhan conjured fire.
Jay gulped.
"Y-you're an elemental master?" Jay stuttered.
Nadakhan smiled still holding tightly onto the chains.
"Much better, I have magic."
"W-what are y-you going to do?" Jay asked shakily.
"Oh my son I think you know," Nadakhan smiled.
"Don't you touch him!" Jay roared as the chains tore against his skin.
"That is no way to speak to your father! You will not disobey me!"
"Watch me," Jay spat in his face.
Nadakhan struck Jay across the face which caused him to be slammed to the wall and fall to the floor from the force.
"I am not afraid to use old methods of punishment to parent."
Jay sat there and held his face feeling dizzy.
"It seems I have brought this present too early," he said holding out what looked to be a choker necklace made of vengestone.
"You can stay chained to the wall for a bit longer."
Jay got up with pleading eyes. If he wanted to save his dad, let alone save himself, he would have to obey.
"Wait- no, please?"
"So, you want it?
Jay hesitated for a moment then nodded.
"Then you must apologize and start addressing me properly."
Jay felt his eyes twitch as he took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry Mr.- I mean...F-Father."
Nadakhan smiled.
He clipped the choker around Jay's neck then unlocked Jay's wrists from the chains.
"T-thank you," Jay gulped.
Nadakhan nodded.
"P-please don't hurt him," Jay begged.
His captor scrunched his face.
"I can't let him take you from me again."
"He won't, I'll stay here!"
Jay cried.
Nadakhan looked at him skeptically. "I promise, I promise. Please? I just don't want anyone to get hurt."
He sighed. "If I find out you are lying to me-"
"I'm not! You won't."
"Say who you wish to be left alone and will be forgotten." "Ed Walker, Father."
Nadakhan smiled down proudly.
"Will I ever be able to leave again?"
"One day, once I can trust you to behave, now I have to leave I have a class to teach." The class that Kai, Cole, and Nya shared with him prior to being kidnapped.
With that Nafakhan left.
Jay was left alone to be in his prison. For once he actually wished he was in school.
"I gotta find my way out of here," he said walking and stretching for the first time in months.
...
"We've looked everywhere!" Lloyd threw his arms up in frustration. It was 9 O'clock at night, the ninja skipped school to search.
"No we haven't and we're not going to stop until we find him!" Kai shouted.
He felt as if this was all his fault.
He was angry at Jay for hurting Nya but it wasn't his place to tell him off, he should have listened.
"And we will," Cole patted Kai on the shoulder.
"Last place we haven't checked is the school," Nya came in with their master.
"We've gotten permission from the principal tomorrow night to investigate as a team, I'll will survey the school while you're in class." Wu added.
The ninja all nodded.
They were more determined than ever to get their friend back.
Nya stayed back a moment as the rest left to go home. "Master Wu," she said quietly. "Yes Nya?" "Make sure to watch our teacher Mr. Nadakhan, Jay mentioned him."
Wu nodded absorbing this information. Nya was about to leave when Wu stopped her once more.
"It's not your fault."
"Yes it is."
"Protecting yourself does not mean you are to blame."
"But it's my job to protect, and I didn't."
"Jay would not blame you, so neither should you, he protected himself too, for whatever reason it was, which we will find out, and that being, he will understand."
...
Jay sat in the corner. He spent all day, at least what felt like all day since he had no way of telling with no sun nor clock in the room.
His heart stopped as he heard a loud bang as the door opened.
"Good evening," Nadakhan said closing the metal door.
"Hi," Jay said tonelessly not looking up. "I have another gift," his captor smiled eerily. "Another one?" Jay wasn't too sure he'd like the gift.
"Yes, I've realized that you need human contact. To see your friends."
Jay jumped up.
"Wait- you're going to let me out?"
Nadakhan shook his head.
Jay knew it was too good to be true. "Then how can I see them?" Jay said losing his patience. "Simple, I've set up a monitor. During class tomorrow you can watch and observe as well as the rest of the school to keep you entertained, well that is after my class, I fully expect you to keep up your education."
Jay looked up at his captor. "Thank you...father."
...
The next day came and the ninja arrived at school hoping Wu would find something to help their endeavor.
10:30 rolled around and it was time for Mr. Nadakhan's class.
The ninja all took their seats as Mr. Nadakhan began taking attendance.
"Chad Steven's," "here"
"Adora Sherri," "here"
"Jay Walker," ....
Nya clenched her fist. He knew Jay wasn't there yet he did it anyway.
Roll call went on until everyone was accounted for.
"The great serpentine war took place between blah blah blah..." All the ninja had tuned out and gave each other looks. Nya didn't know how to prove it but Nadakhan was definitely the reason for Jay's disappearance.
...
When the class ended Nya and the ninja waited to speak with their suspicious teacher.
"You all really should be heading to class, you wouldn't want a detention from your teachers."
Nya narrowed her eyes.
"You knew Jay wasn't going to be here, so why call his name?"
Nadakhan merely chuckled.
"Strictly out of habit, I've called his name everyday, why the sudden interest? You didn't seem to care so much a few days ago," he chuckled.
Ouch.
Nya stepped forward but Kai pulled her back. "Come on let's just get to class," Nya was about to protest but Kai gave her a knowing look.
The ninja all left the class. As Cole exited he flipped Mr. Nadakhan off but it went unnoticed luckily for the team.
When they were out of ear shot, or thought they were," they huddled together.
"He totally did something right?" Nya asked but she said it more as a statement than question.
"If it wasn't obvious then it is now, no properly functioning adult would act like that about a missing especially a student." Zane added.
"Then it's settled, tonight we come with Wu and raid his classroom," Lloyd said firmly.
"But what if it's just a dead end?" Nya worried. "Well it's a start and we have to take anything we can get," Cole reassured her. Nya nodded but she wasn't happy about it. She wanted Jay back and she wanted him back now.
...
Nadakhan slammed his fists angrily against the desk. "Fuck," he muttered, "those ninja are onto me."
He turned his attention towards the hidden camera where he knew Jay was watching. He heard it all there was no avoiding the question.
He sighed as he walked closer to the camera.
"I wish I didn't have to do this, but I have no choice son, they will take you from me so I must exterminate them."
...
Jay pounded on the walls. "No! No! No!" He kicked as hard as he could filling with rage. He could hear Nadakhan speak through the monitor. "I know I promised you, but it will okay. I'll make it painless, besides that deal was to keep you calm, there was never a chance of escape anyhow. Oh and those phony parents of yours will die too. You will thank me"
"No!" Jay cried out. To think he trusted Nadakhan to keep his word. "I have to do something," he said to himself but only cringed.
He was going to kill everyone he loved. Sure they knew it was Nadakhan who took him but not how and what he was capable of, Jay barely knew himself.
He had to get out by tonight, he was more determined than ever.
...
Jay had spent all day banging and clawing at the door trying to free himself. He also kept reminding himself that ninja never quit.
He was too desperate to realize he wasn't convinced.
He heard a loud clank and he stepped back cautiously.
When he did he saw the damage he had done to the door. It was scratched so much so that it was dented but not close to being broke open.
Just seeing this angered Nadakhan more so than Jay had seen him before.
"You insolent child!" Jay felt a hand strike across his cheek which he was soon grabbed forcefully by the jaw and shoved to the wall.
Jay cried out in pain.
"What were you doing!?" Nadakhan demanded an answer.
"You promised you wouldn't hurt them!" Jay choked as Nadakhan shifted his grip around Jay's throat subconsciously.
"I didn't ask you that? I asked what you were doing!"
Tears from not being able to breathe made their way down Jay's cheeks.
"Running away from you!" Jay screamed with all the power in his lungs.
What Nadakhan did next scared Jay more than him being in a choke hold. Jay was dropped to the floor. Nadakhan's furious demeanor changed to an eerily calm one.
"I thought we could do this civilly," Nadakhan sighed in disappointment.
Nadakhan pulled out chains and Jay crawled back. "No, please," Jay begged.
"It's only temporary," Nadakhan said grabbing Jay.
Jay struggled but it was no use.
His arms were chained tightly together.
He cried but it fell on deaf ears.
"Once they're gone I'm going to take you to a doctor,"
Jay looked up in fear.
"Wh-why?"
"A witch doctor, who will erase your mind of your past, and make you obedient."
Jay started to panic again.
"No! You can't!" Jay cried.
"Oh my son it's not your choice," Nadakhan whispered leaning down and kissing Jay on his head.
Jay backed up. "FUCK YOU!"
A gag was shoved in his mouth.
Jays face was red with anger.
"I'll come back to collect you in a short while, don't worry, I'll let you watch."
Jay knew what he meant by watch.
As Nadakhan left Jay thought as fast as he had ever done before. The chains were close to the door. He used them to jam the door without catching Nadakhan's attention.
He sighed in relief. All he had to do now was to get out of these chains.
...
The sky was dark now. They made their way to the school cautiously. When they arrived the door was open but that didn't surprise them seeing as after school clubs often ran late and they spoke with the principal before hand.
They entered the school knowing where to go immediately.
They made sure to tread lightly. "We can't let him get the jump on us," Nya whispered but was frightened when she felt a presence behind her.
"Students not in clubs aren't permitted in the school after hours."
Nya whipped her had back.
"Good for us we have permission," Nya said with spite in her voice.
"By all means go on then," Nadakhan said.
"First stops your classroom," Kai folded his arms. The element of surprise was already out the window so what was the point?
"You may have permission to traverse the halls but you are not allowed in my classroom, office hours are between 8:00 to 3:00."
"Why? What're you hiding?" Cole stepped forward angrily.
Nadakhan simply chuckled. "Oh, implying something are we?"
Cole was going to step further but Nya pushed him back.
"We're not implying anything! Where the hell is Jay?!"
"You haven't found him? A shame."
Nya growled with fury. "Cut the act we know you took him!"
Nadakhan sighed. "I wish I didn't have to come to this."
"What did you do to him you psycho!" Nya roared furiously.
"Nothing yet,"
Nya charged at him but she was knocked over with an orange cloud of who knows what.
"What the hell!" Kai shouted running to his sister's side.
Nadakhan chuckled sinisterly.
"Jay had the same reaction to my magic."
"Magic!" Lloyd yelped.
"Unfortunately, I can't be as kind as I was to him, I know it's wrong for parents to choose favorites but,"
He shot more magic at the ninja which they all dodged.
Did he say parent? The ninja asked themselves but were too busy being attacked to answer.
The battle was beginning to get too hard for the ninja to handle. They were only kids and had barely mastered their element.
Kai was on the floor catching his breath while Zane was hit with magic that made him magnetic to the school lockers. Cole was trying to pry Zane off.
Lloyd was shortly knocked to his feet just like Kai had been leaving Nya to defend her self.
"Why even try? You're all going to die," Nadakhan said condescendingly.
Nya clenched her fists. "Ninja never fucking quit!" Nya charged once again at Nadakhan but then lifted into the air as magic began to suffocate her.
"A sweet notion," as Nadakhan was about to strike Nya with one last deadly blast a figure jumped in front of her and took the hit instead right in the neck.
A loud bang could be heard and police officers rushed into and surrounded them. Nadakhan was trapped magic or none.
They tackled him to the ground causing
Nya to drop to the floor coughing and gasping desperately for air. The ninja ran to her.
Nya looked over to see the face of her savior to be met with... Jay.
She screamed out. "JAY!"
Nadakhan could be heard crying out as he was taken away.
They couldn't make it out but, they faintly heard: "he will die without me!"
The ninja ignored them and huddled around Jay.
His hands were bloody and his face had a bruise right on his cheek, chin, and neck.
"You're ok!" Nya cried out.
Jay looked up at her weakly. "Man that door was hard to break down," he chuckled.
"Jay we're so sorry," Nya apologized with tears starting to form in her eyes. Jay smiled softly. "Wh-who's Jay?"
She was alarmed with this answer but figured he was making a joke at the worst possible time.
"Jay that's not funny," Kai said kneeling down.
"Jay?" Nya asked as Jay closed his eyes.
"Oh fsm," she started to shake him.
His skin started showing illuminating green veins.
"Jay!" she cried.
She looked to Zane for help.
"What's happening to him?"
Zane moved Jay over to scan him.
"Call his parents," Zane said once he scanned his friend.
"Zane what the hell is happening?!" Cole demanded.
"He's been infected with tiger widow venom."
"What the fuck does that mean?!" Kai said starting to panic.
"It means he's, he's in a coma..."
"Well we just need to wake him up then!" Lloyd said with waning hope.
Zane bowed his head.
"A coma that... induces death, Jay's...dead"
Nya began to shake. "No,no,no, he, he can't. He escaped." She was hyperventilating.
"Why? FSM why didn't I listen to him?" Nya sobbed.
"This is all our faults Nya. None of us listened," Lloyd said feeling as if he had let down his entire team.
And this time they all did...
