It was a normal day in the monastery. The ninja had just come back from a mission in downtown Ninjago. Everyone was tired but none of them wanted to go to bed seeing as it was only 3:00.
Nya didn't feel like joking the boys in playing video games. She decided to see what her boyfriend was up to.
Nya walked up to Jays door. Guitar notes emanated from the room. Nya knocked on the door. "Come in," Jay said.
Jay was at his desk with a guitar on his lap. It was an acoustic painted blue.
"Watcha doin?" Jay looked to his girlfriend. "Oh hey Nya just tuning this," Jay smiled sweetly. "I didn't know you played for real. I though it was just a thing from Prime Empire," Nya said sitting down on his bed.
"There has to be some surprises in the relationship. That's how you keep it interesting," Jay teased.
"Thats true," Nya laughed. Jay put his guitar down in its stand. "So what's your secret hobby?" Jay inquired. "Where's the mystery in telling you?" Nya smirked. Jay laughed. "It's only fair."
"You're gonna laugh," Nya blushed. "No I'm not," Jay protested. "Ugh fine," Nya caved.
Nya led her boyfriend to her room and opened a drawer. She pulled out some ceramics.
Nya laid them out for display. Jay looked at them.
"Pottery," Nya smiled. Jays eyes went wide. Before him were horribly deformed vases and strange looking animals at least that's what he assumed them to be.
Jay bit his lip trying not to laugh. "I love this dog," Jay said suppressing a laugh. "That's a giraffe," Nya frowned. "I see," Jay said finding even harder to to keep from laughing.
"This one's cool," Jay said pointing to a pink and blue polka dotted one. He referred to it as 'this one' fearing he would mistake it for something else.
"That's a flower vase," Nya smiled happily. "Pretty." Jay being honest with himself hated them. They were so ugly but it was adorable that Nya made them.
Nya examined her boyfriends face. "Be honest," Nya said. "Be honest."
Jay began to laugh. "Hey you said you wouldn't laugh at me!" Jay shook his head. "I'm not laughing at you! This is the first time I've ever seen you be bad at something," Jay chuckled. Nya crossed her arms. "They aren't that bad," Nya whispered. "Nya I love you but they are really bad," Jay laughed. Nya rolled her eyes.
"I think it's great that you like pottery though," Jay smiled. "What's the point if I suck?" Nya groaned. She had to admit she was awful.
"Because it makes you happy doesn't it? Also practice makes perfect right?" Jay suggested. Nya shrugged.
"I do stuff that I suck at too," Jay confessed. "Acting doesn't count Jay," Nya sighed.
"Stepping aside from that very untrue insult. That's not what I was referring to," Jay said.
Nya scrunched her face.
"Come on," Jay said leading her back to his room. Jay picked up the guitar.
"I, as a matter of fact, suck at playing," Jay admitted. "I doubt that," Nya said cynically. "I seriously warn you Nya I don't think you want to underestimate my sucky-ness," Jay warned.
Nya stood firm. "I tried telling you," Jay sighed.
He picked up the guitar and began strumming the guitar. At first it was good. Nya was annoyed thinking he just dragged her there to gloat until she heard a horrifying configuration of notes at the same time.
Knowing Jay was awful at acting and the way he so casual played without intending to play so tragically proved him right. The more he played the worse it sounded.
Nya couldn't take it anymore and grabbed it. "Okay you were right. That was the worst thing I've ever heard," Nya confessed.
"See Nya? I suck but I still do it because it makes me happy," Jay smiled.
"Thanks Jay," Nya said giving him a kiss on the cheek. "No, problem," Jay blushed. "Any chance I can get mug by the famous water ninja?" Jay asked. Nya smiled. "I don't see why not."Bonus:
It was early in the morning and the ninja congregated in the kitchen. They had no training for the day but they got up early anyways.
Jay got out the mug Nya had made for him.
"What the hell is that thing?" Kai pointed to the deformed mug. "A mug," Jay said smugly. "Not one like I've ever seen," Cole laughed. "You're just jealous," Jay said. "Keep telling yourself that bluebell," Cole joked. "Make all the jokes you want," Jay said after the tea had boiled.
"I do not suggest using that," Zane said. "Why not?" Nya asked. "I like it," Lloyd smiled. "Don't pity me," Nya replied. "Right," Lloyd said going back onto his phone.
Jay took the tea pot and began pouring the beverage into the mug. Tea started to pour from holes. Jay stood there just watching as tea spilled all over. Once the tea had gotten everywhere and out of the cup everyone looked at him.
"That's unfortunate," he said. Lloyd took his phone and snapped a quick picture. "Send me that," Kai whispered.
"That was my best one!" Nya cried. Everyone turned to face her. She blushed in embarrassment. "I play guitar badly!" Jay said coming to Nyas rescue.
The two knew though that they ninja were always going to give them crap over it but they didn't care since it's what made them happy.
