Stranger In The Mirror

As I stand looking in the mirror,
such a sad woman looking back at me.
She lives invisible, no one notices her.

I can hardly recognize her face.
Hazel eyes that the light never seems to lace.
What does she want? What could make her happy? Is it possible anymore or is that question just crazy?

She used to laugh, she used to genuinely smile. All that graced her face before, I haven't seen in a long while.

She looks so tired and deathly close to being a stranger. So much throughout this life, has completely drained her. Fake everything anymore, what's it matter?

She doesn't care much for relationships
She's been seriously hurt before and
hasn't been in one ever since.

She's learned to push
anything potentially good away.
On the count of it happening in the future,
why would anyone want to stay?

I'm judging her from inside out, down to her appearance. I become the cliché,
"you are your worst critic."
