Sometimes, he makes her believe she stands a chance.
Says the things that make the butterflies in her stomach dance.
More times than most, she feels she has it wrong.
That he doesn't care for her and would be just fine if she were gone.
She tries to analyze the conversations, but she's afraid. What if there's only one reason he talks to her and without that, the conversation fades?
She knows she's too crazy about him now to walk away. What might happen to her heart the more she falls because she stayed?
How could she shut it all off? Act like he means nothing and all those things about him, she forgot?
She's the only one with these feelings, she knows that by now. She speaks and instantly wants to take the cowards way out.
She just doesn't know what to do.
Sometimes he gives a little hope,
but she knows that's too good to be true.
She should get out now and save herself the embarrassment. Wanting what you can't have after all, is a special kind of torment.
