Deceptive

Your cold demeanor
cuts my skin like razor blades
You don't even bother now
to ask how I'm feeling,
if I'm okay.

You hide within you,
all the deepest dark secrets.
I'm chained to them and for that,
I live with so many regrets.

You cover one devious act up,
then another.
Why with me,
would you even bother?

What is it you want from me?
Why can't you take with you
the hateful dissatisfaction
and let my heart be?

You act as though
I don't know where it is you go
and all the places you've been.
I'm not a stupid woman,
I hear all that's whispered in the wind.

To take someone and
claim them as yours.
To show that person,
it's everyone else you'd adore.

You're a disgraceful,
condescending human.
Who I was before you,
I'll never be able to be her again.

One day,
you'll understand the gravity of broken.
You'll grasp that of all that you took from me and know why, I am the way that I am.
