"You drew stars around my scars
But now I'm bleedin"

I must've finally gotten a good night's rest, because when I woke up, I felt very energetic. Work has been hectic these past few days, and I've been trying my best to stay as focused as possible. I haven't seen or heard from Elizabeth since that day, and I wish for it to stay that way. Today is going to be a busy day. I have a few hours left of my shift, and later on I have a date with Chloe. It took a lot of convincing, but Ana somehow made me agree to go out.

It was only a little past noon, meaning I only had a few hours left of work. Despite everything going on in my life, being ready for work is my top priority. And if I wasn't, then I wouldn't come in. Point blank.

"What's up, stranger?" I hear Nathaniel say, breaking me out of my thoughts.

I turn my attention over to him, "Hey Nath."

"I've hardly seen you these past few days. It's like you do your shift and then you're out." He replies, making me softly chuckle.

"That about sums it up."

He hums. "How've you been? I mean, since that day."

His question definitely caught me off guard. Truth was, I didn't want to give it any thought, as it just causes me more pain. I've been using work as an escape from reality, like always. "I'm fine, it was a one time occurrence."

"Are you su-"

I interrupt him, "Don't worry about it. I actually have a date later on."

I see him give me a smirk, "Who's the lucky girl?"

"Her name is Chloe, she's an actor. We actually had a fling about a year ago, but I just wasn't ready for a relationship."

He pulls me into a tight hug, placing his hands on my shoulders. "That's amazing! I'm happy for you, I've known you since you got here, and you deserve every piece of happiness."

I pull him into another hug, "Thank you."

As soon as we fell into a conversation, he gets called back for a surgery. I see him give me an apologetic look before rushing off to it. Like always, I became deep in thoughts. I wonder how my day is going to go.

By the end of it all, it was now a little past noon, which gave me more than enough time to make it to my date. I couldn't deny that I was nervous, it's been forever since I've been on one. Though, maybe this was just what I needed. After changing into my normal clothes, it was now time to head out.

"Alright, Bye Nath!" I yell over to him.

"Bye Y/n, go get her!" He replies, resulting in a laugh from me.

The bus drive was fairly quick, thankfully the cafe spot Chloe told me was only a few blocks away. As anxious as I was, I was still extremely excited. Before everything, her and I were good friends, best friends even. I just couldn't love her in the way she needed me to.

As soon as I'd gotten off the bus, I was engulfed in a tight hug. "Oh my god, Y/n, I missed you! I didn't think I'd ever hear from you again."

I shyly chuckle, "I missed you too, I'm sorry for not texting."

She gives me a warm smile, "No worries, you're here now!"
