"As long as you're next to me
Just the two of us"

It was an extremely early morning for us. We didn't end up packing until late last night, which took longer than anticipated. And despite getting a full night's rest, waking up at four am for a flight wasn't exactly ideal. So here we are, in our designated seats on the plane, exhaustion taking over our bodies as we prepared for the ten hour flight ahead of us.

We both got comfortable in our seats as we waited for the pilot intercom to go live. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable Liz looked in her oversized sweater. When she noticed my staring, a quick smile appeared on her face that made my heart flutter with joy. It's crazy how such simple moments could make me feel like the happiest person in the world.

As soon as the airline started to explain the flight precautions, Liz immediately interlocked our fingers as she understood how much I hated flights. I was never fond of them, especially as a kid. But, with my girlfriend by my side, I felt beyond safe and sound. She was able to ease my fear effortlessly.

She gave me an innocent smile, "Darling, would you like your headphones?"

I shook my head, feeling perfectly content because of her touch. "No, I'm alright, my love."

She nodded, giving me a quick peck on the cheek before resting her head on my shoulder.

I quickly diverted my gaze to our clasped hands, feeling butterflies in my heart. My mind was instantly filled with thoughts about my proposal. It's crazy to think that in one month, I'm going to ask her to be my wife. At the thought of it, a warm and fuzzy sensation rushed over my body.

As the plane began to ascend into the sky, I squeezed Liz's hand gently as she gave me a reassuring smile. Luckily, I had a window seat, which meant I was able to see the beautiful view of Los Angeles. And when we reached smooth flying altitude, we made ourselves comfortable.

Liz turned her gaze to me, "Y/N? Do you wanna watch a movie to kill time?"

I nodded, letting out a chuckle. "I can't say no to you, nor a movie."

Liz and I spent the next four hours watching hilarious comedy films. A bright smile would appear every time she laughed at something funny in the movie, and I swear, her laugh is something I'll never get tired of hearing. It's angelic. But, after watching over five movies and munching on snacks, Liz ended up falling asleep.

I gently caressed her knuckles, taking comfort in the feeling she unknowingly gave me. Liz was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Every single second I find myself falling more in love with her, and I don't think that will stop. Because, my love for her is endless. Infinite. She makes me feel things no one else ever could, and I love every bit of it. I will never love someone as much as I love her.

As I laid my head on hers, I fell asleep. But, not for long. Thanks to the turbulence, I was eventually woken from my three hour nap. And when I did, all I could do was admire Liz, giving her my undivided attention. At one point, I felt like I was beginning to seem like a stalker, forcing myself to look away.

I couldn't help it. During the last few hours of our flight, Liz made the funniest faces in her sleep. I wasted no time to take my camera out, filling up my storage with goofy memories of her. It was hilarious, to say the least. I almost wanted to wake her up, just to tease her about it. But, I decided to do it later.

As I continued to scroll through my camera roll, I came across photos of us five years ago. It was insane to think about how much we've been through since then, the thought of it made me teary eyed. Because after years of trials and tribulations, we were able to get through it all. I couldn't even begin to explain how grateful I was that it wasn't a right person, wrong time type of situation.
