"If you wanna dance then
Dance with me"I stood in front of my mirror, gawking at the black box I held in my palm. Inside, was a beautiful emerald green ring, much like the color of Liz's eyes. As I closed my eyelids, every memory between us flashed before my eyes. Of how long it took for us to get to this moment. Then, I began to envision our future together, and what will happen after my proposal. The thought of brought me to tears. It was crazy how such a simple thought was enough to make me feel this way. This happy.
It's been three months since our time at the beach, and since then, things have been more perfect than I could ever ask for. After my accident, it made me realize how things can change in just the blink of an eye. And you never know what can happen today, or tomorrow. I couldn't wait to make her my wife, and I've learned that the more waiting I do, the more time I'm wasting. And so with that, I've been secretly planning my proposal for the past few weeks, with the help of Ashley and MK.
So here I am, standing inside our bedroom, thinking about the million scenarios of how I'm going to get down on one knee and ask her to be my wife. Unfortunately, not all of them were good. I couldn't stop the 'what ifs' that ran through my head at a rapid pace. But, I needed to turn these negative emotions into positive ones. After everything we've been through, I have no doubts that our future will be anything but perfect.
Today was a busy day. Over the previous few weeks, Liz and I have been preparing for our flight to England to film a few scenes of her Scarlet Witch movie. It's only for a few weeks, but I was eager to go there, as I haven't visited since I was a kid. So, I've been planning my proposal after our trip. It's exciting, to say the least. I couldn't wait to start our future together. The thought of it brought a tingling, but fluttery sensation to my heart.
After I put the ring back, I could hear faint music coming from the kitchen. I tip-toed downstairs, and the sight in front of me brought a smile to my face. There she was. I stood in the doorway, admiring the scene in front of me from afar. Liz was dancing as carefree as possible to the song "Everything has changed" while she held up the spatula as a mic.
"And your eyes look like comin' home
All I know is a simple name
And everything has changed"There was truly nothing in this world that was better than seeing this every day. Her presence alone was enough to drive me to a state of bliss and happiness. With her, everything felt easier. I don't think there'll ever be a moment where I'm used to the feeling that she unknowingly gives me. I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with her. She has my heart. And no matter what happens, it will always be her.
I stood there for what seemed like forever until I felt paws scratching my legs. I crouched down to Spencer's height as I gave him a belly rug, giving into his pleads.
"Oh, there you are." Liz chuckled. "I thought you were never going to come out of that room."
"You know, If you keep dancing like that you're gonna burn the whole house down." I joked, pointing to the cooking pancakes.
"Oh, don't worry darling. I have everything until control." She replied with a smirk.
I walked towards Liz, ruffling her hair which resulted in her scrunching her nose. "Funny, that pancake looks extremely burnt." I joked.
At my words, she quickly rushed over to the pan, swiftly flipping the pancakes. "I was kidding, you know?"
She playfully rolled her eyes, "Are you just gonna keep standing there are you gonna join me?"
