"And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while"The next few days flew by quickly, because today is Elizabeth's Marvel premiere. These past few days have been nothing but perfect, too perfect. But, I'm not complaining, I'm just happy to be with the love of my life again.
It was fairly early, so I decided to stay in bed for just a few more minutes. Once I finally mustered enough energy to get up, I headed inside of the kitchen, immediately being greeted by my girlfriend. "Good morning, sleepyhead."
I rubbed my eyes, "Good morning, how long have you been up?"
"Since around five ish."
"Wow, you really are a morning person, huh?"
She softly chuckles, "I have to be when we have a busy day ahead of us."
"May I help?" I ask, seeing her cooking pancakes.
"That would be amazing, thank you."
I excitedly make my way over towards her, pouring the batter in the pan. I grabbed a spatula while allowing the pancakes to cook for a while before flipping them. Within our little cooking session, Elizabeth started to play our favorite Everywhere By Fleetwood Mac. From there, we both starting humming to the music while doing our own dance, our laughter filling the room. Even the simplest moments like this, made my heart flutter.
Eventually, the food finished cooking and we took a seat at the table, eating the delicious breakfast we made. We both fell into a conversation, and I swear, it was as if I could never run out of things to talk about with her. Everything felt easier when I'm around her, simpler. Pure, genuine happiness surrounded us, and the warm and fuzzy feeling in my chest never abandoned me.
After we finished eating, I helped wash the dishes while Elizabeth cleaned the table. Once finished, we both took our showers before getting ready for the eventful day ahead of us.
With the biggest grin on my face, I started getting dressed. I went with something casual, I didn't want to overthink it since I'll be changing once we got back anyways. I looked in the mirror for a few moments, satisfied with how I looked, I made my way back into the living room.
"Alright, what do we have on our agenda for today?" Elizabeth asks, noticing my presence.
"Well, first we need to stop by the grocery store, then I need to go to the supply store to get a card for Ana's birthday, and lastly the post office to send it."
"Okay, let's get these done then."
She gives me a bright smile, interlocking our fingers as we headed out of the door, and that did it for me. She has a smile that lights up a room, it was amazing how such a simple gesture meant so much to me.
As usual, it took us longer than usual to arrive at the grocery store due to the terrible LA traffic. But, it gave us more time to do our traditional singing session. Occasionally, Elizabeth would roll down the windows and lay her head back in the wind, and whenever I could, I gawked in admiration. When we finally got to our destination, she wasted no time to grab us a cart, following me through every aisle as I filled it up with groceries I needed.
After purchasing our stuff, we quickly put the bags in the trunk, hopping back into the car to head to get the card for Ana. Her birthday was in three days, so I needed to send it today for it to arrive in New York on time. It was a little after eleven am, so we had just enough time to make it back home.
Luckily, I timed it just right. We were able to make it to the store and post office before noon. Eventually, we finally made it back to the apartment. Thankfully, traffic wasn't horrible on the drive back.
