"We could've had it all"

It's officially been two weeks since I found out the truth about that night. I felt relieved, to say the least. The days have been getting better recently, Liz and I have been starting a new friendship, and I couldn't be happier. And with that, my sleep has improved tremendously, along with the panic attacks. She was the missing piece of my heart. We're taking it day by day, slowly. The thought of it draws a smile to my face. I feel relieved, free. Like I can finally move on.

"You seem happy today." Nathanial speaks up.

I grin widely, "I am. Things are so good Nath, it's crazy how life can change in such little time."

He flashes me a big smile, "I'm glad, Y/n. I take it you and Liz are talking again?"

"We are, I feel like I finally have closure."

"That's great. You know, it's good to see you this happy. Sad isn't a good look on you."

I playfully bump him, "I hate you!"

He puts both hands up, "I'm kidding!"

The hours dragged a lot longer than I'd have liked them to, but after multiple surgeries and check-ups, I finally finished my shift. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually happy to be off work. After changing into normal clothes, I decided to check my phone since it'd been buzzing quite a lot today.

Scar

Scar: Hi Y/n!

Y/n: Hey Scar, oh my gosh, how have you been?

Scar: Great. It's been far too long, I want to meet up

Y/n: That would be amazing, I just got off work, where do you wanna meet?

Scar: I'll send you the address.

Y/n: Sounds great!

I chuckled to myself as I put my phone back in my bag, I was definitely suprised to hear from Scarlett. Even though she checks on me as much as she can, life has gotten pretty busy for the both of us.

After putting the address in the GPS, for the first time in a year, I turned on a playlist that Elizabeth made for me three years ago. As I drove down the road, memories instantly hit me. Of us. How we used to be. Like, the small singing contests we'd made a tradition.

"Can you hear me calling
Out your name?
You know that I'm falling
And I don't know what to say"

As a certain song started playing, my eyes were immediately filled with tears. I couldn't help but reminisce on past memories of us singing this song. It feels like an eternity ago.

Eventually, I finally made it to the restaurant. Walking inside, I'm quickly pulled into a hug by Scarlett. "Y/N! Am I dreaming?"

I chuckled, "It's good to see you too Scar. What's it been... three months?"

"Try six!" She pulls me into another hug, but tighter. "Gosh, it feels like forever since I've last seen you."

I laughed at her excitement, it truly has though. Time really does fly.
