"I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm, I would
I do it all because I love you"

I slowly awakened, feeling the hot sun that beamed through the windows settle on my face. As I allowed my vision to adjust to the sunlight, the first thing I felt was Elizabeth's arm wrapped around my waist, with her head laid against my chest. All I wanted to do was stay in this moment, her peaceful sleeping body and soft breathing pattern giving me nothing but pure bliss.

I slowly traced my finger along her face ever so gently, feeling her position her head further into my chest. I didn't waste a second to hold her close to me, taking comfort in this feeling. She was like a breath of fresh air, I don't think I'll ever get used to this feeling of contentment and peace. For a moment, every memory replayed in my mind, everything that's happened to us in order to get to this moment. I was beyond grateful that we found our way back to each other
I was so deep in admiration, I hadn't even noticed she'd woken. "Good morning."

"Good morning, how did you sleep?"

"The best." She starts tucking a few strands of hair behind my ears. "I always sleep good when I'm near you."

A smile appeared on my face as I made my way out of bed. "So do I."

She quickly grabs my hand in an attempt to pull me back into bed, "Please, can we stay like this?"

"I chuckle, "I would love nothing more."

I watch as she starts to cuddle with me, leaving no space between us as she drifts back offinton a peaceful sleep. I gently squeeze our interlocked fingers, a smile quickly forming on my face as I continue to admire her angelic features. I probably shouldn't be staring like a stalker, but it's hard not to. Everything about her pulls me in, even the smallest things. Such as, the way she would scrunch her nose whilst she was asleep, or how she'd snore ever so lightly. I don't think I've ever met someone so perfect for me, which isn't surprising. Nonetheless, she's my person.

Eventually, Elizabeth woke back up, and the smile on my face never left. "Good morning, again."

Like usual, she wasted no time to give me her bright smile. "Good morning. How long have you been up?"

"The whole time, I couldn't fall back asleep."

"Oh, why didn't you wake me up?"

I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, "You seemed to be in a deep sleep, I didn't wanna wake you."

She giggled, "I was."

We both cuddled in bed for what seemed like forever, but as lazy as we were, Elizabeth was forced to get out of bed due to a work call. I took a moment to myself before heading to the bathroom and doing my usual morning routine. As I allowed the hot water to run against my face, I couldn't help but think of our future together. Despite everything that's happened, she's still the only person I can imagine spending the rest of my life with, the thought of it brought tears to my eyes.

As soon as I changed into my clothes for the day, I made my way downstairs, instantly being hit by the smell of fresh waffles and bacon. I stood in the doorway, observing how Elizabeth would hum to the faint music playing, doing her own dance along with it. The sight of it reminded me of old times, giving me butterflies in my heart.

"Look who finally decided to join me." She jokes, putting two plates on the table.

I chuckle, taking a seat at the table. "If you missed me that much already, you just had to say that."

She hums in thought, "Guilty."

I didn't waste a second before eagerly picking up a fork and knife, slicing through the waffles before taking a bite. "These are amazing."
