"'Cause all of the small things that you do
Are what remind me why I fell for you"

My mouth quickly curled into a smile as I think about how amazing these past two months have been. Lately, Elizabeth and I have been inseparable. We've been taking this relationship at our own pace. But, we've gone on many dates, and whenever we have free time, we mostly stay in and watch her favorite sappy rom-coms. I couldn't be any more grateful that everything is finally working out, the feeling I have is indescribable.

Today, I finally go back to work. It was nearly impossible for me to safely do my job while I healed from my injuries. Though, it is a little weird to be back after two months. But overall, I really missed working. As soon as I made it to my floor, I was quickly pulled into a hug by my best friend. "Y/N! You're finally back!"

"Nathanial, I can't breath." I start, "You're hugging me too tight."

He chuckles as he pulls back, "I missed you! You completely ghosted me!"

I roll my eyes, "Don't be so dramatic, I called you almost every day."

"Yeah, almost!" He wiggles his eyebrows, "How are things with you and Elizabeth?"

My face immediately drew a smile at the thought of her. "We're great." I sigh, "I'm learning to trust her again, and I feel like I can finally just relax.

"That's understandable, it takes time, especially after what happened between you two."

"You're right, I just.. there are times when all I can think about is that night. If it ever happened again, I don't think I'll be able to handle it."

He puts both his hands on my shoulders, "You just have to talk to her, okay? The way she looked at you that night in the club, I don't think she'd ever want to hurt you again."

I pull him into another hug, "Thanks Nath, I really did miss your advice."

"I do give the best advice." He jokes.

"Alright, what do we have?" I ask, making my way inside the operating room.

"Blood clot removal, ma'am." My assistant replies.

I hum, putting on my surgical suit, while getting the necessary replies.

Once my assistant put in the IV, I start to make an incision around the area of the blood clot before cutting it open. I make sure to put a stent before I continue to remove the clot. Afterward, I closed and bandage the incision before sending the patient off to the recovery room.

By the end of my shift, I was completely drained. It definitely wasn't a good idea to skip lunch, especially with the number of patients I had today. As soon as I changed into regular clothes, I made sure to text Elizabeth. I messaged her a few times earlier, but I never got a response. It was weird, she usually always replies.

I feel completely lost in this house. It's been a few weeks since Robbie moved out, and I haven't heard from him since. But lately, my nerves have been getting the best of m, my mind has been filled with worst case scenarios. What if Robbie tries to hurt Y/n again? What if he does? I've tried to put up a strong front for her, but it's getting harder every day. My nights are always consumed with these thoughts, and it's messing with my sleeping schedule.

When I finally mustered up the strength to get out of bed, I made my way over to the bathroom. In an attempt to wake myself up to the fullest, I splashed cold water on my face. Staring into the mirror, all I could see was myself that night. Robbie's words echoed in my head nonstop. I gripped onto the sink, trying to pull myself together. These types of mornings were becoming a daily struggle.
