" If you're a lover you should know
the lonely moments just get lonelier the longer you're in love"
Panic! at the Disco
I was now warming up for the match. Ariel just made her entrance, with Zack Sabre Jr. I was waiting for my time to enter on Colt's music. As soon as he saw me, we hugged, and it wasn't really an act. We knew that we were having our last match here, on that ring, with those people. I almost shed a tear at the thought, but decided to save it. I walked to the ring side to wave to the guys, and then I saw her and I couldn't have been any happier. My mother was here, ringside, right next to Michael. She had tears in her eyes and gave me the thumbs up as I climbed on the top rope. Colt won the rock paper scissors and hence started the match. As we all asked, the stipulation was that women could fight men. Colt started against Zack, and he was giving everything he had in himself. We had eventually decided to let people know that this would be our last match, and asked our opponents to give all they had, we didn't want to win easily, even if that meant not winning at all. He fought for 15 minutes before giving me the tag. I could hear my friends and family cheering the loudest, giving me a boost of energy. I fought against Zack for one or two minutes before he tagged with Ariel. I fought against her, a smile plastered on my face. She is really a great opponent, and I love having matches with her. Don't misunderstand, everyone in this company is awesome, but there's a great feeling going on with Ariel. I had taken a fair amounts of locks and kicks right now, and when I went to tag with Colt, I fell down out of exhaustion. I maintained myself thanks to the ring, and climbed back, holding the ropes to sustain myself. I hope Colt can stay in the ring for a few minutes still, cause I sure as hell won't be able to enter right now. I don't even know what got me that exhausted, maybe I pushed it too hard, maybe the adrenaline isn't as hard as before. Or maybe it's because the commentator said that I had stayed in the ring for more than 20 minutes. Wow. Colt tried to pin Zack, but Ariel broke it, so I decided to attack her outside of the ring. I occupied her for a few minutes, until I heard the count of 3, and the public cheering loudly. I left Ariel to jump on the ring, and hold Colt's hand up. The crowd was cheering "this is awesome", and I broke down in tears, Scott hugging me. We left the ring under the cheering, and went to our respective families to hug them. I stayed in my mother's arm for so long, before turning to Michael.
" I knew you would do it." He whispered in my ear. "I knew you'd make it far, you're the absolute best, I'm proud of you."
I hugged him even tighter, and whispered back that I would come and get them backstage as soon as the show's ended. I also went to hug Ariel, and then walked back up the ramp with Scott. We hugged once again when we were backstage.
" You did amazing Roxanne, really." He said, and I have never felt more proud in my life.
" You did more than amazing Scott, you gave us the victory."
" It was teamwork. I was sure you'd make it far, but I never thought you would take me with you." He laughed. "I'm so glad Phil brought you here, I'm glad I met you."
I teared up in his arms once again, before going to my locker to get Colby's sweatshirt, slipping it on over my ring gear. I went outside to search for my family, and got them inside. They all hugged me, and my mother cried like I had never seen her cry before.
" I'm going to miss you you know?" She sobbed. "Don't forget me when you're big and famous out here."
" I'll never forget any of you." I smiled. "You're my family, I wouldn't be there without you."
" Is Phil here ?" She asked. "I'd want to thank him, for helping you."
" He's not here, he went to WWE at the beginning of the year. " I explained. "But Scott here has been like a brother to me for the past year and a half, and we're going to FCW together. He trained me when I started and has always been here. "
She then unexpectedly went to talk to Scott and hugged him. Unfortunately, she had to leave for her hotel, and take a plane tomorrow early. I hugged her and kissed her as much as I could, before her taxi arrived. I took my bag and decided I'd shower at home. 4 guys in one backseat wasn't easy, but me made it for the 10 minutes drive. Scott went to shower as I helped the guys with the mattress and everything.
" I didn't know wrestling was that impressive in real life." Luke breathed out. "I was legitimately scared for you a few times."
" Well, it was our last match there, might as well try and impress people." I chuckled. "But thank you, I guess."
Scott came back down, and I went to shower myself. We all talked a little downstairs, before all going to bed, Scott and I tired by our match, and the boys by jetlag. I checked my phone before going to sleep, and answered Colby's texts.
From Colby, 22:12 p.m
" Fuck, you were so amazing out here, i wish I could have been here."
" I cried seeing you cry, hope those were happy tears."
From Roxanne, 23:25 p.m
" sorry for the late reply, and thank you, that means the world to me."
" those tears were both happy and sad, I think I'll miss ROH a bit, that's where it all started right ?"
" But hey, it's a new chapter of my life, and I'm really happy about that."
From Colby, 23:26 p.m
" it's okay, I know you were occupied."
" I'm so fucking proud of you, I was watching the match with a few friends I made in NXT, and they kept saying how 'that Roxanne girl is amazing'"
" and I was like, yeah, that's my girl ."
I smiled like a big fool. Colby is honestly the greatest human on this planet. Never he had been ashamed of me, always pushing me towards my goals and not hesitating to tell people he's in love with me. For now, we had been doing this long distance thing pretty good I think. We've been together for almost 8 months now, and in a long distance relationship for 6 of them. I think the fact that we're both very occupied all day makes it easier, and that we're living our dream.
