" But can you see how, that night, you took my mind away"

Today was the D-Day. We had to be in the boss' office, to know what was going to happen to us in the few months coming. Scott was going in first, and I was going right after him. I was waiting anxiously in the corridor for Scott to exit the small office. It felt like hours had passed, even though it's only been like 10 minutes. My leg was shaking, and I was starting to sweat, even if we were in the middle of December. Scott finally left the office after like 15 minutes, and he did not seem pleased at all.

" Is everything okay ?" I inquired immediately. "What did they say."

" Well, let's just say training is not over yet for me." He laughed a bit sadly. "But go on, he's waiting for you, I'll just sit here."

I smiled sympathetically at him and entered the room, even more stressed than I was before.

" Oh, come on, please have a seat." The man said with a smile. "Alright, I have pretty good news for you. I told Scott just before that maybe one or two more months here could prove useful, maybe not, he might join the company sooner than that." I felt relieved, the news weren't as bad as I thought. "But for you, no more training."

" What ?" I blurted out. "Excuse me but, I have not been wrestling for that long, and Scott has been for like 5 years, how is it that I'm joining the company and he is not."

" Well miss, you were gifted with pure talent, and a groundbreaking charisma. Don't worry too much about Scott, he'll join you very soon." He smiled. "But for now, the big boss well be waiting for you on January, 3rd, 8:00 a.m sharp in his office. The address will be sent to you soon, and I'm pretty sure you'll find someone in the building to show you around. Until then, enjoy your break, and see you then."

I thanked him and left the office still shaking. I'm going to join the company. I am really going to make it. I felt a little bad for Scott, but as the man said, it won't be long until he joins me. When I stepped foot outside, Scott was on his feet waiting for me. I looked at him for a few moments and just burst out into tears of joy. He hugged me instantly.

" What's happening Roxanne?" He asked. "Is everything okay? Please if something's going off with you Phil will kill me."

" I'm fine, I'm perfectly fine." I smiled, looking up. "I'm signing a contract in January Scott."

" What really ??" He looked surprised but happy, which reassured me. "That's amazing, I'm so fucking proud of you girl!" He paused for a moment. "But you know, I won't be joining you."

" Yeah, he told me." I was the one hugging him now. "But he also said that it would only be for like 2 months, and that it might even last less. Show them what you got Scott, and you got a lot of talent and passion, more than most other people here, maybe even more than me. They wouldn't want to miss that, trust me."

" I love you Roxy, and I say that in complete friendship." He chuckled. "You're the best. It feels weird to say that, but you've grown a lot since I met you. You're not a teenager with a dream anymore, you're a grown woman that is so close to achieving her dream." I could swear his eyes were wet. "You're going to do great things, and I already can't wait to come and kick yours and Phil's ass. Maybe Colby's as well, if he stands in my way." We both laughed, before he wiped one of my tears. "But hey, I still have good news ! My girlfriend Emma, she's transferring to Tampa, so she's going to come and live with me. I hope it's not a bother?"
